Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Production Associate - Trim Cell (C Shift). The core hours for the C shift are Friday through Sunday from 5:00 am - 5:00 pm. The rate for this position is $16.25 - $20.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

The Trim Fab Production Associate will provide expertise and support in all areas of the Trim fabrication process, including, but not limited to operating a spot welding machine to manufacture trim assemblies safely and promptly while adhering to Eaton’s high-quality standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed.
  • Receive, support, and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill production requirements on time. Perform assigned functions from oral / written instructions. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned functions.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment safely and competently. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
  • Ensure all safety and industrial hygiene requirements are maintained.
  • Utilize computers to look up and print out job-specific details. Compare information obtained on the computer to physical products.
  • Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignments. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one’s functions.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sumter, SC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts
  • Computer literate
  • Previous experience with cranes and forklifts
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasion, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
  • Experience with measuring devices (i.e. tape measure and calipers).

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate.
