Job Description

Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. We work in the local plant linked to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

This role is accountable for preparation of domestic and international shipments as well as fulfilling orders to internal customers. You may be accountable for overflow tasks within the manufacturing area, which requires primary and secondary gowning. You must follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies, at a highly regulated facility.

Job Summary:

  • A Senior Technician, Operations is multi-skilled within own unit product/department and develops skills in multiple products/departments.

  • Works with a limited degree of supervision.

Essential functions of Technician:

The Senior Tech will perform duties assigned by department supervision, including but not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrate, at all times, safe work habits and maintains a safe work environment. Comprehends and complies with all safety and company policies and procedures.

  • Technicians may be accountable for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous wastes, as appropriate to their area.

  • Pull products from storage areas to complete a customer order.

  • Prepare materials for shipping including handling of dry ice and/or liquid nitrogen.

  • Finalization and storage of product.

  • Receive and issue materials from inventory.

  • Perform cycle counting.

  • Organization & storage of direct materials.

  • Operation of company vehicle, forklift and/or pallet jack.

  • Prepare, clean and sterilize glassware and equipment for use.

  • Assist with equipment set-up and operation.

  • Proficient in computer use, i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Maintain data in SAP.

Attend training classes, workshops, meetings, etc. as required to improve job skills and product- related procedures. Assist in training new team members. Assist in reviewing and developing Standard Operating Procedures. Must be able to work flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

  • Read, write and comprehend information and to effectively impart information to colleagues at various levels.

Education and experience:

  • High School diploma/GED with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend information and to effectively impart information to colleagues at various levels

  • Must have a strong attention to detail

  • Must be more proficient with PC operation and able to use Microsoft applications

  • Must be able to work flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

Working conditions:

  • Primarily Second Shift work hours are 12-8:30pm, but may vary to meet Production demand extending to as late as 11:00pm or early as 8:30 am. The shifts may vary as well from 8-10 hours.

  • Flexibility working overtime, including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays, when business needs demand

  • Travel is not a part of this position

  • Climate controlled and areas that are not climate controlled
