Key Capabilities:

Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting our federal customers, particularly the U.S. Department of Energy, as Document Production Coordinator. This position requires an experienced person with demonstrated document management experience, superior professional demeanor, and the ability to accomplish a wide variety of day-to-day responsibilities that ensure Leidos program success.

This is a full-time position based from the Germantown, MD Leidos office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Shepherds document production process from inception to distribution, including organizing materials, tasks, and personnel to complete and publish federally required documents ranging in size from 1,000 to 3,000 pages developed over multiple years.

  • Formats the page layout and various elements (tables, sections, index, etc.) of complicated, multi-author document deliverables in MS Word.

  • Ensures, tracks, and analyzes editorial departmental quality control efforts.

  • Develops level-of-effort estimates for document production efforts and works closely with Project Managers to analyze the scope of work and establish project schedules.

  • Provides proofreading and editorial support, ensuring adherence to applicable style guidance, such as the Government Printing Office, Gregg Reference Manual, The Chicago Manual of Style, and Associated Press.

  • Works as needed in the office to accomplish document distribution and specialized document editing functions.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience in document design and production management, some part of which is with production for large multi-volume technical documents.

  • Experience with designing and managing a variety of publications, such as news releases, fact sheets, and posters.

  • Power user in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Word.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and coordinate products that meet the need effectively and efficiently.

  • Capability to manage document projects that involve multiple client and other contributors’ input to the document.

  • Ability to get a DOE Q clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Particular familiarity in meeting standards for Department of Energy publications.

  • DOD TS or DOE Q
