Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift. This role is based at the Syracuse, NY manufacturing site.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

As a Production Supervisor, you will provide leadership and direction for a work group within the plant. You will track performance with respect to safety & the environment, quality, on-time delivery, cost for their respective area. In addition, you are the first line contact between production employees and the management staff.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct Daily Team stand-up meeting with all department personnel in area of responsibility
  • Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor
  • Help drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance
  • Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements
  • Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary
  • Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform job
  • Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times as well as ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies
  • Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements in order to meet customer deadlines


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing, production or operations experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of (Syracuse, NY) to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited institution
  • Machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.)
  • Three (3) years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity in a manufacturing environment
  • SAP business system experience
  • Microsoft Office platform experience
  • Union environment experience
  • Continuous Improvement project experience
