We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us _Feed the Future,_ and grow your career.This position reports directly to the General Supervisor, Purified Acid.**What you will do:**+ Oversee and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in producing purified phosphoric acid by Solvent Extraction and Release process+ Direct workers in changes regarding operating processes, work procedures, and production rates according to production instructions+ Examine materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specifications+ Observe machines and equipment for malfunction and order adjustments repairs or direct workers to make adjustments or repairs+ Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment+ Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations+ Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders to workers, and assign duties+ Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules+ Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product+ Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew+ Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems+ Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals+ Maintain time and production records+ Expedite late list and rush list daily to meet plant and customer deliveries+ Estimate requisitions and inspect materials+ Communicate with sales and project management to work on estimating lead times, material cost and labor+ Coordinate activities of individual departments rotating labor as needed+ Set up machines and equipment+ Perform activities of workers supervised+ Required interactions associated with Food Safety are as follows:+ Perform all duties necessary to meet FSSC 22000, Nutrien, and any regulatory requirements or standards as prioritized by Nutrien+ Inform management of any food safety or quality issues or any processes which become non-compliant with specified requirements+ Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to food safety and the quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system+ Identify and record any problems relating to food safety and the quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system+ Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of food safety and quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected**What you will bring:**+ Three to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience+ If a current Nutrien employee, incumbent must meet all the requirements on the supervisory promotion checklist, have at least 5 years experience at this site, a minimum of competent rating on last performance appraisal, better-than-average attendance record, as well as a demonstrated, consistent compliance record with safety and environmental goals, and record of team participation+ Technical knowledge in the areas of chemical processing, chemical shipping regulations, OSHA and environmental regulations, food grade product manufacturing, preparation of capital and operating budgets, technical and business writing, employee relations, and safe work practices is required+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential**Are you a good match?
