Job Brief: Lead Operations team in the day-to- day support of KeyBank Foreign Exchange Sales and Trading located in Cleveland, New York and Seattle. Areas of responsibility for this role include confirming trades with counterparties to ensure accuracy, executing settlement in a timely and accurate manner, serving as a dual control for the front office to ensure integrity of trades, providing customer service for investigations that arise subsequent to the trades, and ensuring complete, timely and accurate reporting in accordance with Swap Dealer Repository reporting requirements. This role interacts with Derivatives Operations, Swap Dealer Compliance, and Technology Support on a frequent basis. The Department Manager leads a team of seven direct reports. Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years banking/foreign exchange operations experience Strong working knowledge of foreign exchange functions and products including payment processing, Nostro accounts, and swap transactions. Ability to identify areas of risk and implement appropriate controls. Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Develop and nurture a customer centric culture. Ability to handle stress, demonstrate a calming influence during a crisis, and manage effectively through resistance. Effectively navigate and embrace change; exhibit an openness of new ways of doing things and an adaptable, continuous improvement mindset. Proven demonstration of Key leadership competencies. Stays up to date on current industry best-practices. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for day-to-day activities of the staff to ensure primary procedures are completed accurately and timely. Ensure documentation of procedures according to process implementation on new systems, including process flows and desktop procedures. Assess assignments and make recommendations for workflow improvement. Cast an effective leadership shadow through actions, coaching, educating, and training. Prepare, review, and update regulatory documentation which includes internal control testing (Sarbanes-Oxley) and disaster recovery. Ensure identified issues are resolved and communicated timely to the line of business and escalate to senior management when applicable. Develop and maintain relationships within Operations and related areas to facilitate the timely coordination of work and problem resolution. Manage third party service and/or solution provider(s) relationships as applicable. Take an active or lead role in projects impacting Operations, or in support of the line of business, and balance other responsibilities accordingly. Regularly review the performance of your direct reports and provide timely, actionable performance feedback; hold individuals accountable for progress against feedback and achieving results. Development of a team of associates to achieve corporate and group goals while achieving a high level of employee and client satisfaction. Preferred Skills: Working knowledge of the FSS/Ion Spectrum or Calypso back-office system. Working knowledge of foreign exchange payment processing. Working knowledge of foreign exchange swap transactions and trade reporting.
