Job Summary:

The Operations Manager position supportstheIntegrated Logistics Services of a principal DoD agency in Virginia. As the Operation Manager, you’ll directly support the program’s operational requirements within its Alexandria, VA warehouse by providingtimely, trustworthy, and dependable customer service and integrated logistics support, including warehousing, coordinating physical delivery, pick-up, inventorying, shipping/handling and the disposal of IT assets in accordance with applicable statutes, defense regulations and DISA/JSP’s policies and procedures. The operations manager fosters reduction of capital and operating costs and maximizes productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, be a strong team player, and can establish solid working relationships horizontally and vertically with staff members, peers, and our external Government customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for linking processes and inputs to maintain the balance and alignment between supply chain processes and customer and stakeholder objectives, achieving both weapon system availability and cost reduction goals and Warehousing and other Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities as required by the JSP.
  • Directs activities involved in the receipt, inspection, ticketing, order picking and storage of warehouse merchandise.
  • Arranges and coordinates the consolidation, packing and shipping of hardware from the warehouse to various disparate locations across the Pentagon Reservation.
  • Controls hardware and software from receipt in warehouse until shipment and is accountable for distribution and/or disposition of all receipts.
  • Plans and schedules work assignments and arranges for necessary equipment and personnel; supervises and evaluates the performance of subordinate associates.
  • Conducts regular inspections of equipment and work areas.
  • Supervises and participates in the taking of periodic and special inventories.
  • Assists in the preparation of a variety of reports consisting of operational statistical data to be used for analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the warehouse.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and accurately in technical matters.
  • Extensive knowledge of large, complex aviation and/or communications-electronic ground systems maintenance programs and their overall support requirements.
  • Broad management experience affording knowledge of contract administration, personnel administration, financial management, contracted logistics support and business administration or specialized knowledge of customer requirement.
  • Experience that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of an enterprise structural framework to align the information technology strategy, plans, and systems with the SCM mission, structure, and processes of the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This role requires a current Secret clearance.
  • Business Management, Logistics Management, or related field or 10 years of experience in Warehouse Management, with a High School diploma, or equivalency.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a managerial position related to warehouse support.
  • Knowledge of distribution and warehouse management systems, and techniques.
  • Service Members and Veterans with experience in the following MOS / AFSC / NCC rates should meet the qualifications for this position: MOS 3043, 92Y, 2S0X1.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a (2S0X1) materials managerial position related to Contract Logistics Services (CLS) and supply chain management support.
  • 5 years of recent experience working in a DoD environment.
