Job Description

Our Sourcing team partner with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.

Position Description:

Provide operations and maintenance troubleshooting support for a large research campus facility and future headquarters for Our Company. The Assistant Operations Supervisor will work in a team environment to understand, anticipate, and manage operational challenges in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment leveraging mechanical operations expertise.

The Assistant Operations Supervisor, within the Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) group, will support facilities & utilities for the company’s pharmaceutical research campus. Provide day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned area(s) and may include technical input to mechanical utilities including HVAC, steam, water and/or other utilities.

Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation technician with working knowledge of operations and the ability to maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot plant equipment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interact with internal customers and IFM service providers on day-to-day field issues.

  • Support and contribute to the maintenance planning process (both daily and longer term)

  • Lead daily toolbox talks in support of target Zero Safety culture

  • Ensure assigned team’s compliance with company assigned or mandated training requirements.

  • Support operations, including organizing and overseeing the work and schedules of staffing and assigning of resources.

  • Ensure that employees follow all safety standards.

  • Lead and direct operations in the absence of the supervisor.

  • Supports assignment and supervision of the work of bargaining unit employees, contractors, and suppliers and ensure work is completed on schedule.

  • Support and deliver as necessary, training activities for shift personnel.

  • Support payroll and time reporting activities, including the approval of time, and making time/payroll coding corrections

  • Provide input and recommendations for employee recognition.

  • Support and participate in the investigation and disciplinary process; provide input on perspective discipline.

  • As a Company representative, supports the preparation process of the grievance procedure. Attends grievance hearings as a Company representative as necessary.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, temperature, RH, pressure, and flow devices.

  • Provide practical solutions to operations/ controls problems.

  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.

  • Lead topic discussions/training at Supervisor Council Meetings

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient and clean operating condition.

  • Provide complete written documentation of work including work orders, PM's, etc. and maintains cGMP records related to maintenance and repairs.

  • Utilize electronic technologies; electronic work order systems, e-training, and email.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent, Vocation or technical school certification.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electrical operations with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team is a must.

  • Applicants must be familiar with all phases of industrial maintenance.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose issues and plan repairs or maintenance.

  • Must be physically able to perform repairs, etc.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Preferred Experience

  • One or more years supervisory experience and/or one or more years as a Set-up or Lead Mechanic
