Scope of the role:

The Associate Director, Cell Therapy Operations (CTO) Strategy & Operations will be a key member of the CTO Strategy & Business Operations team and will be responsible for supporting the development of strategic plans, leading business operations activities, and leading strategic initiatives. The Associate Director will partner with stakeholders across the organization to effectively deliver robust strategic plans and ensure efficient business operations.

Key responsibilities:

The Associate Director, CTO Strategy & Operations provides the Cell Therapy Operations (CTO) organization strategic planning and business operation support in the following areas:

  • Leads strategic planning activities to support key CTO organizational priorities and goals
  • Conducts detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses to support the development of organizational strategy
  • Monitors the organization’s progress on delivering strategic objectives, identifies risk to delivery, and partners with stakeholders to identify mitigation strategies
  • Supports the development, implementation, and management of effective and efficient business operations processes to support the delivery of CTO’s goals and objectives
  • Supports the development of a strong network of Strategy & Business Operations colleagues within the different functional areas
  • Supports the development of a strong culture across the organization

Professional experience and qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or related field.
  • Master of Business Administration (M.B.A)
  • 5+ years of experience within the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry (Cell Therapy experience preferred)
  • 1-3 years of management consulting experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management, and familiarity with fundamental project management principles
  • Proven expertise in conducting detailed analysis and developing strategic plans
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business operations processes
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing transformational change

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to develop and deliver clear and concise presentations to senior leadership
  • Strong Data Analyses and Analytics skills
  • Project Management principles (PMP Certification Preferred)
  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory/industry requirements to work in a tightly regulated environment
  • Strategic thinking in ambiguous situations
  • Agile mindset and ways of working

Travel: This role requires about 25% travel.

Additional professional and personal requirements include:

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Experienced in leading change and a demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Possesses strong collaboration, delegation and interpersonal communications skills and shares critical information with project team and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and logic skills with a focus on fact-based decision making.
