Position Description:

Expense Operations Finance Director, US Human Health Finance

The Director will work extensively with US and Global Commercial teams as a key financial and strategic business partner to support the goals and growth of our Company's Human Health (HH) business.

The Director is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and financial evaluation activity for the investment base within HH US and Global Marketing. The director partners closely with cross functional teams, including marketing, sales, procurement, legal, compliance and corporate teams to evaluate business performance and identify, evaluate and execute strategic opportunities.

The Director will develop a deep understanding of their business area and their strategic contribution to the broader Company enterprise. A successful candidate will have an intrinsic curiosity about the healthcare industry, a dedication to serving customers, a passion for learning, and an eagerness to collaborate in solving complex business challenges. The position requires an enterprise mindset, effective communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate across a broad network of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities (Actuals, Budget, Long Range Operating Plans, and other forecasts) while ensuring proper linkage with enterprise stakeholders

  • Partner with marketing, sales, operations, market access, market research and other teams to evaluate investment opportunities, assess business performance and drive progress on transformation objectives

  • Provide strategic and financial insight on key business decisions and new initiatives; develop, evaluate, and present business cases to senior leaders

  • Evaluate and communicate market, product, and financial performance drivers as it relates to teams’ investment bases.

  • Ensure integrity of reported financial results by overseeing maintenance of planning and reporting systems

  • Build talent within the team, providing guidance and feedback to support team members’ development goals

This position supports the US HH Market, Global Customer Business Lines, and Global Market Access teams. The position oversees seven Associate Directors. The position is based in Upper Gwynedd and supports teams based in Kenilworth, Upper Gwynedd, and Zurich.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • MBA, CPA or other Master’s/PhD in Business, Finance or Engineering-preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

  • At least 5 years in a role providing direct support to internal business customers (e.g, Marketing, Manufacturing, Research).

  • Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical, technology, marketing, or sales industries

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Strong compliance focus, financial acumen, analytical skills, and knowledge of finance systems and planning and reporting processes

  • Sound and balanced judgment, with the ability to assess and manage risk and quickly drive decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance for evolving operating models

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build diverse peer and client relationships and influence outcomes (both vertically and horizontally)

  • Strong people management experience, building, managing and motivating teams in a challenging and complex environment

  • Passion and intellectual curiosity with respect to healthcare industry

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Strong computer skills, especially working with Excel and PowerPoint
