Job Description

We have an exciting position within our Global Clinical Supply Compliance Operations! Position is responsible for ensuring imports/exports are declared and shipped in compliance with local Customs and other government agency regulations and our Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards. This will include developing and implementing related processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.

Position will work with GTC, site shipping personnel, and Clinical and Research stakeholders across all global locations. Position will also interact with Logistics, Transportation, Clinical Country Operations overseas, and outside vendors/shippers. Key challenges will include influencing all constituents and stakeholders to following trade policy and procedures and solving shipment specific issues when they arise.

Specifically, this role will:

  • Provide US and global support to deploy our company's Compliance strategic goals and objectives aligned closely with business objectives.

  • Assure trade compliance with global and site regulations as applies to all processes, sites, and resources.

  • Provide weekly , monthly shipments reviews to ensure that our company's export shipments are being executed following all trade regulations, laws and all our company's policies and procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for trade compliance process improvements within the GCS organization and rest of the Research and Development Division.

  • Partner in maintaining and implementing trade compliance Standard Business Procedures, tools, systems, and training to ensure compliance and to ensure the appropriate processes are properly incorporated into the organization and Research and Development Division operations.

  • Partners with area SMEs inside and outside of the organization on cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate.

  • Work in our Global Trade Management systems including , GTAS and GTS in SAP and other systems to ensure trade attributes are stored and communicated to brokers and government agencies compliantly through completion of import declaration.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in years of experience in Trade Compliance

  • Trade related certificate or Customs Broker License preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years logistics experience in the pharmaceutical or highly regulated industry of which a minimum of 2 years functional expertise with international trade

  • Knowledge of Global Customs regulations and related experience

  • Knowledge of other partner government agency trade regulations

  • Prior background interfacing with international 3rd Party vendors

  • Proficiency using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams)

  • Knowledge of global trade management systems like SAP GTS or other similar databases, strongly preferred.

  • Technical knowledge of information systems with a focus on end-to-end supply chain

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Good project management skills

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Sustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of work

  • Awareness of diversity
