Operations Integration Lead, Director, IPS & Business Support Team

The Integrated Production System and Business Support group is an integrated team responsible for IPS, L&D, Knowledge Management and PMO for the Organon Manufacturing and Supply organization. Working in this integrated team provides the opportunity to drive innovation, continuous improvement and transformational change leadership in how Organon Manufacturing and Supply (OMS) works. The position reports to the IPS & Business Support Lead.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Operations (internal & external) annual business processes to drive strategy creation, execution and monitoring (Hoshin Kanri strategies, Financial Planning, and Portfolio Management).

  • Organizational metrics, governance, culture creation, critical initiatives, budgeting and profit planning, communications, competency-building, change management and business operations to enable the organization’s mission.

  • Facilitates the Operations leadership team in the development of their strategy and annual Hoshin activities.

  • Identification, prioritization, and scoping of improvement initiatives across the business that are targeted to improve effectiveness, operating efficiencies, enable lead time reductions and lower costs.

  • Proactively identify, manage and execute projects of strategic importance to OMS. Projects are often cross-functional, cross-geographical and/or cross-divisional opportunities that require coordination across multiple stakeholders.

  • Manages the overall Hoshin portfolio and ensures that initiatives have appropriate sponsorship, execution plans, and change management to drive to installation and realization of benefits.

  • Leads the overall change management activities for the organization.

  • Leads design and delivery of organization wide communications and engagement.

  • Leads the deployment of mindset, methodologies and tools to drive culture and key organizational competencies.

  • Coordination of the management systems and performance measures for Operations.

  • Establishes, maintains and optimizes performance metrics for the Operations group to ensure effective organizational focus and outcomes.

  • Uses performance results to identify areas where improvement is needed to advance our mission and strategy.

  • Serves as Chief of Staff for Operations.

  • Ensure presentations are aligned with strategic direction of the organization. Work closely with the appropriate groups to ensure that messages reflect the current thinking of Operations and participate as requested in site visits/plant reviews with the Operations Sr. Leader.

  • Ensure planning and facilitating of the Operations LT sessions/meetings and governance forums e.g. the weekly OMS Supply Tier process.

  • Manages and coordinates actions to improve engagement and effectiveness of communications across the organization.

  • Works closely with other Business Support leaders across the Manufacturing & Supply organization to align on organizational strategies and priorities.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related areas of study.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experiences, including operations.

  • Demonstrated ability in driving change through clarifying intent, managing delivery, and enrolling people to realize.

  • Knowledge and experience with portfolio management, project management, organizational design, balanced scorecards, competitive analysis, performance measurement and/or business metrics.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to develop high quality working relationships

  • Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate workshops, meetings, and/or large or small groups to drive successful outcomes

  • Desire to work in a “start-up” environment supporting the separation and stand-up of Organon Manufacturing Management Systems and the building of a newly formed leadership team and organization.

  • Experience with change management, deployment of Lean/Six Sigma and/or other business improvement methodologies.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10 years of work experience with minimum of 3-5 years in biopharmaceutical industry.

  • Knowledge of strategy development and execution.

  • Operational experience and Lean thinking.

  • Courage, candor and willingness to speak up.

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with ability to work cross functionally. Demonstrated experience in coordinating large, complex, cross functional projects.

  • Ability to lead a cross functional and globally dispersed team and excel in influencing with informal authority.

  • Identify & drive solutions in a complex, ambiguous environment and the ability to drive change and transform the business.
