Position Summary
The Director, Strategy & Business Operations – Bio and Pharma Supply Chain (SC) is responsible for driving the roll-out of the yearly business processes, performance, budget, communications, and governance of Bio and Pharma SC Global Supply Chain pillars they support and maximizing organizational effectiveness in collaboration with the department head and the functions’ leadership team.
This leader will also lead ad hoc Global Supply-chain wide initiatives and deliverables in collaboration with their peers.
This position plays a key role in driving and supporting the Global Supply Chain Evolution and works closely with the leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, synergies, harmonization as appropriate across the organization. This person works closely together with the Bio/Pharma GSC leadership functions, business partners, and stakeholders and leverages Bio/Pharma supply chain knowledge for efficient functional support.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director, GSC Strategy & Business Operations
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business planning: leads cascade of yearly business calendar processes for Bio/Pharma GSC pillars
GSC strategic planning process: coordinate the strategy cascade, ensure resources and priorities are aligned
Goals & Objective and KPI definition and target setting
Portfolio business planning: monitors and sustains the book of work and roadmap of Project and initiatives
Financial budget and projections cycles
Leads and supports the Bio/Pharma GSC pillars governance
Ensure adequate KPI dashboards and performance reviews, highlighting trends and risks, define recommendations for improvement and tracking progress as required
Monitors progress on Goals & Objectives
Prepare and facilitate GSC LT meetings
Leads and coordinates consistent and adequate GSC change and culture initiatives for the pillars in collaboration with the functions’ leadership teams
Coordinate content coordination and deployment for all communication channels (newsletter, townhall, engagement sessions…), define and provide input to the GSC-wide communication
Leads and/or coordinates culture, learning and change initiatives
Promotes high standards for organizational efficiency, transparency throughout the organization in strong collaboration within the team, the leadership and the stakeholders:
Identifies continuous improvement opportunities, initiates and leads improvement initiatives, establishes and maintains best practices and fit for purpose approaches
Ensures fit-for-purpose adoption and connectivity with GPS S&BE and the GSC functions
Participates in the GSC Strategy & Business Operations Community of Practice
Leadership:
Is an ambassador for Global Supply Chain and the function they represent
Enables rapid decision-making by removing barriers, setting clear priorities and streamlining processes; provides the relevant information, resources and tools that enable others to own decisions and take action.
Creates a safe space for speaking truth and idea generation; encourages constructive disagreement and creative debate; celebrates both go and no-go decisions; values individuals that flag risks or present efficiencies even if they result in a change of course.
Acts as a coach to the shared resources
Creates strong partnerships with the stakeholders
Collaboration and support:
Has a deep understanding of many facets of the Bio and Pharma GSC pillars, including the operations, operating model, mission, needs, systems and tools, and stakeholder ecosystem involved in Bio and Pharma GSC pillars
Able to leverage expertise/understanding of Bio and Pharma GSC functions to work autonomously / using best practices to effectively and flexibly support Bio and Pharma in a multitude of critical areas
Remains up to date on digital solutions, such as emerging systems or tools, that can be adopted to continuously improve existing processes

Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, supply chain or business with a Masters or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations, supply chain, preferably in the biopharma industry
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization; excellent presentation skills, both material creation and delivery
Demonstrated learning agility; ability to adapt in an agile way as required
Ability to set and deliver results in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments; ability to think critically about issues and understand context and likely challenges; ability to balance strategic awareness & direction setting with consistent tactical results
Ability to closely monitor execution of plans, measure of results and correct deviations, as appropriate
Strong problem solving, negotiating and decision-making skills; ability to implement decisions quickly
