Associate Director, Business Operations Global Medical

The Associate Director, Business Operations will provide support for strategy development and execution across the Global Medical organization. This broad role will be the strategic and operational partner to the Executive Director, Strategy & Operations, Global Medical. As such, it is critical that they are able to effectively and efficiently collaborate with leaders in the organization to evaluate, assess, design, enhance and develop long and short-term strategies.

This role will support and lead a broad, diverse set of projects and deliverables across the Global Medical organization. These include, but are not limited to, supporting the Medical Impact Agenda, global planning processes (Commercialization Choice Framework), managing the data and metrics for the organization and providing insight and guidance to stakeholders on data trends and areas of opportunity.

Candidates should have experience translating strategy to actionable projects and must be able to drive the successful delivery of project objectives across franchises & business units. The role requires effective stakeholder management, the ability to engage and align with business partners and to provide guidance to staff and business leaders in order to remove barriers and improve project execution. The ability to bring an enterprise mindset to the role and to work seamlessly across the BMS enterprise are essential skills. As such, it is critical that candidates can lead without authority and have a demonstrated track record of engaging matrix teams in order to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources. Candidates will need to leverage capabilities and expertise within the broader S&O organization to drive business objectives, resolve business issues, and optimize opportunities.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • 3+ years relevant experience preferred

  • Operational experience across a range of commercial and/or R&D roles a plus

  • Experience in project management with the ability to develop clear action plans and execute

  • Ability to build relationships, influence and drive organizational engagement at all levels

  • Proactive, with strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize projects and activities across a broad portfolio of deliverables

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel, SharePoint, TEAMS and other analytics & business intelligence (Tableau, etc.) software
