Job Description

Position Title: Supply Chain Operations Lead - Sub Sharan Africa

Responsibilities:

The Supply Chain Operations Lead for Sub Sharan Africa, will lead a team of 4 individuals and is primarily accountable for:

Sourcing, selecting and maintain a compliant and cost oriented contract management relationship with the Organon approved 3PLs who guarantee a flowless management, from customs clearance to delivery, of our pharmaceutical products in South Africa and English Portugues African markets. Successful management of demand and S&OP cycles and KPIs Operations budget accuracy and process improvement projects

He / She is accountable for the compliant execution of all operations carried out by the entitled 3PLs and by his / her direct reports belonging to the South Africa SCO Team according to EHS, Quality and Security standards set by Organon local or global regulations (SOX, FCPA etc..).

Here below his/her accountabilities:

Organization & Stakeholders Management

  • Responsible for the recruiting, development and leadership of an engaged team
  • Liaise and partner with the local commercial organization and other relevant functions and is part of the local LT.

Logistics Operations

  • Lead the relationship with the 3PLs and ensure their SLAs, KPIs, cost accuracy and seek for opportunity for process improvement and simplification and implement corrective actions when needed. Lead the Monthly Business Reviews
  • Lead the team and operationally support the inventory accuracy via execution of cycle counts, annual physical inventory activities, analysis and ERP systems reconciliations and interface monitoring.
  • Supervise correct execution of custom clearance process and flowless inbound activities.
  • Ensure adherence of our internal and 3PLs processes to all qualitative and compliance procedures (Audits, Assessments)
  • Support regional projects and sponsor local improvement initiatives.

Demand & Supply

  • Support the team in forecasting accurately helping introducing analytics and statistics.
  • Lead the IBP process.
  • Successfully support the deployment of changes during the whole product lifecycle in alignment with the business

Financial

  • Responsible of developing the annual budget, the quarterly financial forecasts and the monthly actual costs control and variances explanations
  • Identification and implementation of Cost Savings opportunities, related to local Distribution and logistics operations while maintaining efficiency and performance levels.

Professional education and skills:

  • Proven track of Project Management capabilities, financial acumen and continuous improvement approach
  • Proven track of People Management experience, Negotiation, 3PL management and stakeholder influencing
  • Results Driven, independent & critical thinker, able to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • English fluent
  • 7-10 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain in a multinational environment
  • Master of Science in engineering, Business Administration, Logistics Management, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Six Sigma certification is an advantage.
  • ERP systems awareness is preferred.
