Marquee Sports Network is the television home of the Chicago Cubs. We are the Chicago-region’s exclusive network to view live Cubs games featuring extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming, delivering unprecedented Cubs coverage for fans. The Social Media Design Coordinator will contribute to the Marquee Sports Network social and digital channels creative and design efforts. This individual will create and execute social/digital-first graphics within the Marquee brand parameters. The ideal candidate will generate fresh, exciting ideas for the Marquee Sports Network social media channels. This full-time salaried position will have gameday responsibilities, and will be expected to be responsive to baseball/other relevant news (often on an abbreviated timeline). This position will also be responsible for promoting network programming and select initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for social media strategy and content creation for Marquee Sports Network platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Assist in gameday coverage of Chicago Cubs (MLB and MiLB), Chicago Bears and Chicago Sky games
  • Assist with digital ad creation to support Marquee Sports Network’s new app
  • Support day-to-day social media content calendar execution and the creation/editing of real-time content
  • Create sponsored social media graphics that generate revenue for the organization while maintaining engaging social designs
  • Work with Sprout Social tool to pull analytical reports and sharing findings with rest of team, as well as tagging social content to track performance across platforms
  • Identify emerging trends as well as industry standards and incorporate into creative and social content
  • Stay up to date with sports news, specifically in the Chicago market
  • Other Marketing duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance
  • Ability to be productive while working in the office or in a remote environment

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in the sports industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in social media management (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Familiarity with Sprout Social or another social analytics platform preferred
  • Social media savviness and ability to convey a message in a short form
  • Prior experience producing sports-related content preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; previous sports writing experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce engaging and relevant content
  • Passionate about sports with a knowledge of baseball, basketball and football
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work quickly and efficiently
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to receive feedback from others and apply it to the work
  • High productivity when working independently and while collaborating with others
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends and some holidays
