We are seeking a Technical Director to oversee the studio & remote production of our pickleball productions. This role will ensure the quality execution of all production elements, graphics, camera selection, audio, replays, and commercial coordination related to live streaming and broadcasts. The primary goal will be to maintain the highest quality standards while managing a team of technical professionals. This role works closely with the Tennis Channel senior production team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work alongside Producers to bring the show concept to air and work with technical production crew to ensure the show air is clean and efficient.
  • Organize and loading show elements, including loading graphics to switcher.
  • Ensure the shows rundown is complete and ready for air.
  • Prepare and execute full video, camera, audio, and transmission checks prior to each air day.
  • Supervise and coordinate technical and other production staff, including camera operators, audio, replay operators, graphics, lighting, production assistants, and announcers.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's efficiency and productivity.
  • Will require to travel domestically to remote production sites.

Required qualifications:

  • Proven 10 years’ experience in television production with technical supervisory roles
  • Expert in video composition and conception (Lighting, Framing, Storyboarding, Shot Composition)
  • Excellent knowledge and operation of the NewTek TricCaster and 3Play video production system and VMIX.
  • Able to multi-task and think quickly directing and switching multiple feeds on a live sports event.
  • Strong knowledge of television broadcast equipment and technology
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality productions
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The base salary compensation range for this role is $81,000 to $90,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
