To help bring our vision to life, Sinclair Digital is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Manager of Publishing and Community Management to manage and coordinate the publication of food and travel digital content across various social platforms. They will be supporting the team in a variety of functions from creative development to content creation to digital publishing to content performance reporting. This person will also be responsible for virtually interacting with our food and travel fans; as such, the ideal candidate should not only be a food & travel category superfan, but also have the patience and fortitude to deal with the challenges that interacting with strangers all day presents. Other key criteria for excelling in this job: being highly detail oriented, having an interest in appearing on screen, possessing excellent communication skills, and thriving in the fast-paced and ever-changing social media landscape.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for brand visibility.
  • Attend daily editorial stand ups to help pitch/produce engaging content.
  • Lead our social media channels, creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and interacting with our food, travel & lifestyle followers/fans.
  • Monitor social handles to ensure adherence to publishing recommendations in terms of copy, cadence, and creative.
  • Prepare recurring content performance reports, and work with your team to synthesize the data to formulate strategic content plans aimed at growing each platform’s audience and increasing engagement.
  • Create and distribute recurring competitive content reports with the goal of putting our platforms at the forefront of food and travel digital conversations.
  • Track social media trends, and actively contribute content recommendations to your team.
  • Write and produce a weekly newsletter about our Food & Travel coverage highlighting key issues, themes, or franchises.
  • Work with marketing and revenue teams on engagement strategies for branded content.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in social media strategy and community management for a media organization or brand (a passion for lifestyle content preferred).
  • Exceptional knowledge of all aspects of social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, and Pinterest.
  • Experience creating performance reports using social media analytics platforms (i.e. Sprout/Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Crowd Tangle, etc.), and ability to articulately translate that data into actionable plans.
  • Must have a highly curious mind, possess the ability to spot trends in social media, and the skills to create engaging digital content.
  • Must be highly motivated, extremely organized, and come to the position with a digital-first mindset.
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and change that may come about as our team evolves over time.
  • Late-night, early-morning, weekend, and holiday work may occur depending on the news cycle.
