Your Role and Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer, Workplace Solutions is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the electrical portion of the IBM Global Real Estate workplace standards and consulting on IBM workplace projects on a global basis. Focus will be developing best in class workplace standards and driving key IBM workplace and environmental initiatives. The Workplace Solutions team serves as the core level of expertise to provide consultant level oversight and insight to IBM Global Real Estate leadership and geography teams and project management, design and construction suppliers and consultants, in addition to developing and driving our global workplace standards.

This Engineer will be responsible for guiding the standards for design and construction of workplace electrical and electrical infrastructure systems within IBM's facilities, as well as collaboratively guiding the workplace AV standards. With a focus on transformation, project execution, and customer support, this Engineer should have a base knowledge of the principles that govern workplace electrical and electrical infrastructure design, operation and commissioning including but not limited to:

• Electrical power distribution systems
• UPS systems
• Standby generator systems
• Medium voltage substations and switch gear
• Lighting and lighting controls systems
• Building management systems
• Audio/Visual systems
This Engineer will possess excellent communication skills and confidence in decision-making ability, which will enable this Engineer to interface with multiple entities across the IBM enterprise, as well as external consultants, construction firms and government agencies on a routine basis. Through constant collaboration, this Engineer’s skill set will include the ability to:

• Develop detailed project design criteria
• Perform electrical engineering assessments and analysis


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of professional experience in the electrical engineering field
• Able to coordinate teams located in multiple geographies
• Organizational skills allowing prioritization of multiple projects


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Professional Engineer preferred but not required
• LEED AP preferred but not required
• Ability to work on tactical delivery while developing a strategic vision in a fast-paced environment
• Strong Leadership skills
• Business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written across multiple level
• Ability to influence and collaborate across different functions

The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
