Location Strategy & Incentives - Senior Manager Work you'll do As a Deloitte Senior Manager in the Real Estate & Location Strategy practice, you will help some of the world's largest companies develop and implement sustainable global location and footprint strategies. As a leader in a growing and dynamic practice, you will provide service excellence by working with client executives to identify and solve complex Location/Footprint/Talent access issues. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of creative approaches to developing the right solutions for large companies. You will operate both domestically and globally in conducting location and footprint strategy assignments, and will operate across all industries and facility use types: • Location & Site Selection: o Project design and execution o Data collection, management and analytics o Operating conditions assessment and modeling o Financial modeling and business case development o Site and building inspection and assessment o Utility assessments o Talent landscape / workforce analysis (Supply vs Demand) o Competitive landscape analysis o Field due diligence o Government relationship management o Market entry strategy • Incentive Negotiation o Development of negotiation strategy o Communication with State/Local/Utility provider leadership o Negotiation of incentive programs and terms o Financial modeling of program impacts o Documentation of incentive programs o Development of Memorandums of Understanding o Incentive administration planning Representative Responsibilities Senior Managers are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including: • Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk • Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors • Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies • Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals • People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices The Real Estate & Location Strategy Team Our Real Estate & Location Strategy team works as a trusted advisor to key executives in the world's largest and most exciting emerging companies. We advise, implement and deliver Location & Footprint Strategies, and negotiate valuable incentives on behalf of our clients, helping them select the right geographies and create sustainable and financial and operational environments for their organization. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • 12+ years of Location Strategy and Incentive Negotiation experience across multiple facility/use types (such as Manufacturing, Business Services, Headquarters, Data Center, Research & Development) • Demonstrated experience delivering large, complex projects for multinational organizations with multiple stakeholders • Strong executive presence including the ability to advise and influence at board level • Network of international and domestic economic development leaders • Track record of business development, including full sales cycle management from opportunity identification, development, proposal development through deal close • Ability to interpret client requirements and design location and footprint solutions to solve complex global location challenges • Experience in negotiating and securing high value incentive packages across multiple geographies and facility type • Experience in operating as part of a larger multi stream consulting team/engagement • Ability to direct, lead large, high performing, multi-disciplinary teams in the screening and assessment of locations/sites, and the conducting of technical and field due diligence on sites and communities across the globe • Commitment to diligent administration of projects • Ability to support development of others by delivering key performance feedback, coaching and demonstrating role-model behavior • Track record of eminence building activities (public speaking, publishing of articles etc) • A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred. • Demonstrate consistent career progression with increasing levels of responsibility • Perform above expectations in previous professional roles// • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% • Must live within commuting distance to one of Deloitte's consulting offices Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degree in business, real estate or data-analytics field (e.g., MBA) from a top tier program • Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills • Language fluency (i.e., German, Spanish, Mandarin) • Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, collaboration, and communication skills • Ability to build consensus and foster change in a client business setting • Commitment to personal and professional growth How you'll grow At Deloitte, our professional development plan focuses on helping people at every level of their career to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
