Within the Center for Observational and Real World Evidence (CORE), the incumbent will lead efforts related to building capabilities enabling Oncology Real World Evidence (RWE) generation. This individual will be responsible for the development of oncology RWE data strategy and analytics to support our oncology products.

The individual in this role serves as a subject matter expert, who draws from expertise in oncology product development, real world data, RWE in oncology and data & analytics, and applies these skills to address asset level business and scientific questions. The incumbent will also be expected to stay abreast of advances and developments externally in the field of real world data and evidence generation, including engagements with data providers. The incumbent would harness quantitative skills, experience with large datasets, real world studies, and understanding of technical infrastructure in building real world data assets.

The incumbent will align the oncology RWE capabilities with the broader CORE RWE capabilities in partnership with the RDAI team. The incumbent will work closely with the product Value Evidence Sub team (VEST) leads to identify use cases where the capabilities can be applied. The incumbent will work closely with colleagues internally across functional areas who are also involved in data strategy and analytics to achieve efficiencies and shared goals as appropriate.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Establish a knowledge center within our company's related to data, methods and analytics for Oncology RWE and communicate on the RWE related initiatives and findings.

  • Provide expertise on real world data sources and their quality to inform partnership and collaboration opportunities that will maximize the use of oncology real world data within our company.

  • Develop and maintain pan tumor RWE strategy for CORE-Oncology, in collaboration with tumor VEST leads and cross functional partners.

  • Identify and evaluate data sources that will enable RWE generation; and establish collaborative agreements based on the company's data strategy and data vendor offerings.

  • Represent CORE and lead interactions with emerging real world data providers, understanding their products, and evaluate them on their quality and fitness of use for our company's research needs.

  • Provide leadership and oversight of standardization of delivery of research grade, real-time, patient-level data into our company.

  • Play a leading role and serve as a subject matter expert on scientific methods utilized in oncology RWE generation.

  • Create global standards for real world evidence in oncology (such as standard business rules, methods for common endpoints).

  • Develop, publish, and update standard business rules over time and provide requirements for their use within our company.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders within VESTs, data science teams, medical affairs, policy, commercial to understand oncology real world data, analytics, and evidence generation needs.

  • Lead RWE generation for pan tumor use cases and serve as the lead for matching the evidence needs for individual tumor teams to the appropriate data asset and provide methods expertise as needed.

  • Monitor and evaluate trends on use cases, methodological developments, established frameworks, treatment guidelines, and impact generated from Real World Evidence.

  • Effectively communicate the Oncology RWE strategy and outcomes from studies both internally and externally including dissemination of scientific material at congresses and through publications.

  • Engage with the experts worldwide in use of RWD and analytics and its application in oncology.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Doctoral or Masters’ degree from a recognized school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, economics or other related field

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in Data Science, expertise/experience in the design and implementation of real-world evidence

  • A track record of scientific presentations and publications.

  • 3+ years relevant experience if Doctoral degree

  • 5+ years relevant experience, if Masters’ degree

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Doctoral degree

  • Experience in Oncology-related datasets, real world evidence generation methods expertise

  • Experience in Oncology-related outcomes research/epidemiology
