BMS is hiring a Sr. Manager, Capital Projects and Indirect/Material Services Sourcing professional located at the Manati manufacturing facility based in Puerto Rico. Reporting to the Associate Director, Site Procurement Leader, the Procurement Sr. Manager Capital Projects and Indirect/Material Services will lead the local sourcing efforts for all Capital and Indirect/Service negotiations and related activities. This position will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives, support the business with close partnership with the site management team, and engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the GPS network to ensure best value for individual site and network.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Accountable for leading and supporting the strategic sourcing process, to identify the best option for the purchasing aspects and customer bids.

  • Manage the sourcing deals, negotiations, contracts and all added value activities for the Manatí negotiations and bidding process for capital projects, MRO and services and others as required, always in compliance with Corporate Policies and Directives.

  • Lead the procurement activities to support the implementation of Capital strategic projects at Global, Regional or Site level.

  • Leads and/or assists on the resolution of key supplier issues, new Capital projects value capture initiative, risk mitigation and site/Regional productivity initiatives.

  • Provides internal and market analytics to support development of strategic category plans; collaborate with category leaders and business partners on plan development; may also independently lead strategic category planning for selected categories Leads and supports execution of procurement plans.

  • Leads the preparation of competitive go-to-market events (solicitation of bids, quotations and proposals) with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions.

  • Develops effective relationships with key suppliers in a way that builds mutual respect, trust and drives performance in a manner consistent with the BMS pledge.

  • Leverage’s technology to implement Capital category specific goals and objectives and understands systems and their implications to the operation and strategic impact on the business.

  • Leads the Procurement Capital Compliance plan and Audit Readiness strategy, aligned with BMS policies and directives.

  • Works with department heads to identify new opportunities and involves Global Procurement for overall strategy & alignment; seeks ways to improve overall service performance.

  • Facilitates implementation of cross-site commodity agreements at both sites & functionally with other network sites across the world (where applicable).

  • Communicates with other site purchasing leaders & GP to leverage other buying opportunities not covered by Direct Mat’l category master contracts.

  • Looks for continuous improvement in delivering procurement services and identifying new opportunities.

  • Leads the preparation of and/or issue contracts (or large purchase orders) for legal review and approval

  • Maintains agreement files in compliance with all GP Policies and Directives at all time and Leads the GP Audit Annual Plan activities in preparation to any Financial or Regulatory Audit activity.

  • Leads Change Control and risk management efforts as required in Capital category.

  • Provides strategic industry insights and identifies potential opportunities to improve total cost of ownership, including revenue enhancement, speed-to-market, mitigated risk/improved lifecycle management, and other opportunities that to BMS competitive advantage.

  • Lead the Capital Supplier Relationship Management program and procedures: supplier and category segmentation, metrics/KPI development and application, scorecard format, contract management, etc

Required Experience and Behaviors:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning, CPM/CPIM/CPSM preferred. Experience with direct procurement preferred.

  • The ideal candidate is experienced in SAP Procurement module.

  • Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally and implementing efficiency improvements in Capital/Service/Indirect Material negotiations.

Preferred Experience

  • Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers.

  • Additional experience in Supply Chain, and Inventory modules strongly preferred. Proficiency in ARIBA or other systems may be acceptable.

  • Procurement skills such as developing relationships with suppliers, expediting, prioritizing and negotiating deliveries, analyzing and reporting on supplier performance.

  • Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred. Comparable controlled industries may be acceptable.

  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills in order to successfully establish the new role of procurement within the organization and to meet the procurement needs of the customer.

  • Strong negotiation skills using sound sourcing principles and a fact-based approach. Strong understanding of category specific business operational processes, procedures, workflows.

  • Understanding on the methodology, process and guidelines for conducting and implementing an efficient/effective indirect sourcing project
