EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, Biology or Pharmacist.

  • Seven (7) years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a chemical, analytical development, analytical instrumentation or pharmaceutical science function.

  • Requires advance and thorough scientific knowledge related to analytical and chemical science.

  • Requires excellent skills in observation, verbal and written communications, English and Spanish

  • Highly effective computer applications skills preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Leadership skills are essential. Requires excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to drive performance in a group in a global organization.

  • Ability to collaborate with peers and builds alignment in the organization.

  • Goal oriented and ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Describe the extent to which the job must be performed under working conditions that are considered undesirable, potentially hazardous, require travel, or require absence from home overnight:

A. Describe exposure to any hazards / disagreeable conditions in the work environment:

Standard Laboratory Safety Guidelines should be followed at all times. Visits to the plant require following safety standards for the plant and corporation. No additional hazards are foreseen for this position.

B. Travel required (describe nature and frequency):Travel is part of the job (daytime). Attendance at BMS meetings in headquarters, technical transfer from and to all manufacturing BMS sites and technical conferences is expected. Seminars and meetings will be attended as part of continuous education.

C. Overnight absences required (per typical month):

Overnight trips will probably average two weeks per year. Use this space to provide any additional information that you believe would help in evaluating this position in Analytical Technical Services (ATS)

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads Analytical methodology development, Quality Control /ATS investigation program and laboratories Quality Systems.

  • Ensures that existing analytical methodology at the site is robust and that validation is maintained within BMS guidelines.

  • Generates and review scientific data and reports and ensures consistency and accuracy.

  • Develops, reviews and approves calibration/preventive maintenance procedures.

  • Supports site manufacturing staff in trouble shooting to ensure the continued manufacture of products at the site.

  • Participates on project teams to ensure the ATS representation on technical issues.

  • Provides direct support for technology transfers to guarantee flawless execution to and from site.

  • Maintains the Quality Control Validation Master Plan (VMP)

  • Ensures compendial compliance

  • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with federal and local regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA, DEA, etc).

  • Participates in the development and administration of the functional area Budget.
