What you’ll be doing...

The primary responsibilities of an Access Product Manager include evaluating the business needs for access (connectivity) solutions of the Verizon network to third-party vendors and envisioning a roadmap for current and future connectivity solutions, then take these ideas and turn them into business plans and ultimately drive the business plan to completion and implementation. The position requires the building of relationships with key stakeholders and business partners from Network Planning & Engineering, Service Delivery, IT development teams, Product, Sales, and other organizations. Proper prioritization of work, planning, and delivery of prioritized work with the development teams is a key to success.

  • Responsible for product development/management of access technologies to data networking products and services.
  • Create a roadmap, product forecasts, business plans, product communications, and product positioning in the marketplace for ongoing product management. Participate in market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs. Provide thought leadership and develop product vision. Meet with sales, customers and analysts to talk about Verizon products and/or trends we see in the market.
  • Participate and be involved in multiple projects at a time.
  • Develops schedules and practices to ensure timely completion of the project; identifies appropriate resources needed.
  • Host meetings and lead cross-functional work groups such as legal, network planning/engineering, sales, provisioning, Service Assurance, Customer Service, and other impacted teams. Provides Sales support and interdepartmental support for customer service, engineering, finance, regulatory, legal, pricing, PCM and marketing communications.
  • Track revenue and booking results. Support monthly Operational Reviews and organizational strategies. Make recommendations on improving sales and/or margins.
  • Prepare Business Requirements documents for Product teams Clarity flows and process.
  • Coordinate and facilitate/participate in UAT and alpha testing in preparation for production deployment.
  • Coordinate across multiple internal departments to ensure orders move quickly and accurately through infrastructure.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Software development/engineering experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Verizon IT systems.
  • Experience with touch screen UI, small-screen interaction, or physical devices and various wireless network technologies (Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth).
  • Ability to lead complex technology design projects involving coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to designed/developed of mobile apps or services.
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet Access solutions and technologies, including diversity solutions, to enable Verizon IT systems to support the Verizon product stack for quoting, ordering, provisioning, billing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work closely with Verizon, Service Delivery, Network Planning & Engineering, and IT resources to ensure requirements and processes are established to meet project business requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience developing solutions to complex problems that require creative thinking. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Knowledge of solution selling and standard sales cycles, with demonstrated experience in finding new and innovative ways to achieve objectives to increase time to market, reduce costs, and end-to-end process time.
  • Requires independent thinking. Demands full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies.
