What you'll be doing...
The Senior Manager, Data Protection Policy Services is a critical member of the Enterprise Security leadership team within Verizon Cyber Security (VCS) organization. In this technical engineering leadership role, you will be responsible for delivering innovative, enterprise-scale solutions that enable components of Zero Trust architecture, Data Authorization and Data Protection Policy as a Service. This team will work hand in hand with the peer teams providing data encryption and tokenization services.
The Data Protection Policy Services team is a highly skilled group of full stack engineers and designers that works with a variety of languages and technologies to build a reliable scalable application suite capable of integrating with home-grown applications and 3rd party products to deliver data protection policies and data access governance solutions to users in a policy-compliant and audit-able manner.
- Leading the development of solutions that address complex issues within enterprise IT, including virtual data integration, data governance, data consumption for analytics purposes, data scientist collaboration, and data access/ authorization governance that incorporates attribute based access controls,
- Leading development efforts to build and deploy solutions that enable local and regional data segmentation and centralized data policy management services.
- Providing day-to-day management for management-level direct reports and strategic guidance to indirect reports with little supervision.
- Having the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences about program status and challenges along with ability to define paths to resolution.
- Responsible for working with internal and external peer organizations to provide support services along with delivering transformation through automation, engineering and outsourcing where required.

In this remote role, you'll work from home with occasional in-person trainings and meetings.
What we're looking for...
You have leadership experience along with a strong understanding of data operations of the cyber security domains both from a process and technical perspective.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Four or more years ofexperience related to data protection topics Data Discovery and Classification, Policy Authoring, Definition and Enforcement, Privacy Enhancing Techniques (PETs), Tokenization, and Encryption.
- Leadership experience with technical or process engineering teams-direct reports, or indirect or dotted line experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience in Privacy Engineering, Data Protection Engineering and/or Privacy-by-Design.
- Experience in Information security, Data Governance, Data Protection technologies, Policy and Standard development, IT, application development and/or support.
- Experience and knowledge of Privacy Enhancing Techniques like de-identification, pseudonymization, anonymization, k-anonymity, differential privacy.
- Experience in building large enterprise security solutions to manage data protection.
- Experience with regulatory standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills both technical and non-technical.
- Strong peer leadership to organize and manage technical tasks across functional teams.
