The Enterprise Resiliency & Response (ER&R) Manager is primarily responsible for project management, leadership, coordination, execution, tracking, and reporting for the Enterprise Resiliency & Response (ER&R) Program. Projects in this functional area are related to maintaining and enhancing the organizational resilience, including business continuity, crisis management, and testing/exercising disciplines.

This position performs moderately complex project management activities and supports continuous improvement and alignment with company strategies, goals, and objectives, including developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and guidelines.

This position facilitates enterprise-wide event (emergency) management response to disaster or other situations that disrupt business operations. This includes, responding to major events affecting our personnel, business operations, and/or site locations, with the goal of protecting the safety of our employees, avoiding, or minimizing damage to the organization's reputation and/or ability to operate.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project/Program Management

  • Coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas utilizing standard project management documentation (project charters, plans, risk trackers, status boards, etc.)
  • Acts as primary meeting facilitator of cross-functional project team members, capturing action items and tracking follow-ups
  • Liaison for stakeholders both internal / external, including coordination with Optum technical support teams
  • Prioritize, organize, and balance multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • Reviews current processes/programs, performs needs assessment, and develops recommendations for improvements
  • Develops and delivers reports and presentations to leadership regarding project status, progress, issues, and risks
  • Participates in development of program objectives/strategies, timetables, budgets, and resource assessments/requirements

Facilitate enterprise-wide event response:

  • Acts as an event management leader, facilitating the response, decision making, and communication to global events affecting our personnel, business operations, and/or site locations, with the goal of avoiding or maintaining the businesses’ ability to operate
  • Coordinate effective and efficient response with executive and senior leadership from sites, business continuity plans, corporate functions, site emergency response and technology recovery teams
  • Documents best practices, procedures, and job aides to be utilized during Event Management
  • Identifies, documents, and monitors issues identified post-event that require remediation to improve overall response process
  • Provides 7x24 On-call support during and after normal business working hours, as needed. This may include gathering time-sensitive information needed to develop situational awareness and support decision making
  • Very little travel required

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years project management experience in increasingly complex projects
  • Experience interacting with individuals at all organizational levels, including interfacing with executive management
  • Ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise in project scope, milestones, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation based on established project management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications - Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP (Project Management Professional), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), CEM/AEM (Certified/Associate Emergency Manager)
  • Experience coordinating and delivering technology related projects including requirement gathering, implementation, testing, training, enhancements, and road mapping
  • Crisis/emergency management and/or business continuity experience, and proven ability to function as an effective leader in crisis management situations
  • Knowledge of crisis management, business continuity, and disaster recovery methodologies and principles, including current industry standards and practices
  • Knowledge or experience in Salesforce, mass notification and geospatial situational awareness and incident management systems
  • Multi-lingual in English, Portuguese and Spanish
  • Exceptional communications skills, including the ability to listen effectively, present information, understand varied business concepts, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, solid attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to be proactive, planning and thinking about what’s next
  • Team player and solid ability to work with other departments across the business
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to demonstrate resilience, compassion and empathy in very difficult situations

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
