The Leadership Development & Culture Program Manager is a dynamic and visible professional who supports the development, deployment, and delivery of leadership development and orientation programs and activities, in addition to DEI and culture strategies and initiatives that support the accomplishment of Optum Home & Community business goals and objectives. This role is responsible for executing the strategic approach that shapes the organization’s culture and overall talent strategy, ultimately contributing to a high-performing and inclusive environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage leadership & culture programs and initiatives, including content design, project management, logistics, communications, and ongoing success measurement to ultimately create an inclusive culture that reflects the diversity of the patients we serve and an environment where all colleagues feel welcomed, respected, and valued
  • Facilitate impactful and dynamic leadership development & culture learning experiences for Home & Community colleagues
  • Develop and manage vendor and external partnership relationships
  • Conduct external research and benchmarking to ensure strategy, content, and delivery models are positioned to deliver best-in-class results
  • Partner with Human Capital Partners, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to perform regular needs analyses and utilize available talent data to determine areas of impact
  • Collaborate with internal partners to design, communicate, and deliver impactful development and learning solutions
  • Consistently assess and measure training and development programs to ensure they are relevant to the needs of the changing business
  • Support Home & Community’s DEI councils and strategy, measuring impact and driving initiatives in alignment with the UHG Global DEI Office strategy and priorities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, Leadership Development, DEI, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating in front of leadership
  • Proven experience managing executive stakeholders and gaining buy-in for strategic and cultural initiatives
  • Experience developing, designing, and executing learning programs with ability to design and deliver innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Experience identifying solutions to moderately complex problems and performing moderately complex analyses
  • Demonstrated track record effectively building relationships, interfacing, influencing, and presenting with executive level leaders
  • Knowledge of learning methodologies, change management, and communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or demonstrated equivalency (e.g., certifications)
  • Experience with graphic design/instructional design
  • Experience facilitating senior level leadership conversations; motivating, influencing, and coaching business leaders
  • High proficiency with MS-Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Teams
  • High comfort level with ambiguity
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, influence without authority, and build sustainable relationships at all levels of the business

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
