Product Analyst, Disease Biology and PharmTox Product Line ( MERCUSR178065ENUS)

The Research and Development Sciences (RaDS) value team in Our Company R&D IT brings together product management, engineering, and data science expertise to enable data and technology products and services that accelerate our scientists’ ability to discover and develop innovative medicines that change the course of human health. In the RaDS value team, the Product organization is accountable for implementing technology products and associated services to advance the drug discovery and development pipeline.
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Product Analyst to join the RaDS Product organization. The position will report to the Disease Biology & PharmTox Product Line Lead. The goal of this product line is to enable capabilities that help scientists generate hypotheses and draw rapid conclusions by interrogating target biology and its relationship to human disease and pharmacological interventions. Key IT and Informatics capability areas include molecular profiling, safety, immunogenicity, dose prediction, and model-informed discovery and development, and multiple modalities such as imaging, phenotypic screening and flow cytometry to enable target and biomarker discovery.
In close partnership with our Research & Development Division scientists, understand product vision and strategy; translate business problem statements into prioritized user stories.
Manage scientific applications and lead cross-functional squads to build user-friendly scientific data and technology products
Learn and contribute to product discovery activities to rapidly prototype solutions involving automation, informatics, AI/ML workflows as well as visual analytics
Conduct assessments of internal and external tools to ensure integrity and compliance
Assist in developing the business case for new products, suggest improvements to existing products, identify redundant or unneeded products to retire, and highlight valuable business ventures to consider.
Synthesize data, observations, and other research into insights to help inform product strategy and decisions
Author requirements and plan, design and conduct testing activities, and compile critical content for training and communication for our users. Partner with scientists to socialize solutions, gather user feedback.
Work with product managers, user researchers, business stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists to conduct product discovery to assess value risk, usability risk, feasibility risk and business viability risk, to create and validate the product backlog
Facilitate meetings with key product team members and business stakeholders to regularly update on product discovery, delivery and support to ensure transparency and priority alignment
Seeking a highly motivated product analyst and problem solver with 2 + years of experience working with scientific software development, clinical or scientific data management
Eagerness to learn scientific processes, drug discovery and development processes, and regulatory requirements as necessary to solve business problems
Ability to work in a team of multidisciplinary scientists and IT personnel, and operate effectively in a matrix environment with a customer centric attitude
Team player yet able to work independently with minimal direction
Well-versed with software development life cycle (SDLC), ability to communicate technically with development teams and experience with Agile Development Principles
Record of working independently, asynchronously (across time zones) and with excellent communication skills that cross culture/geographic/organizational boundaries
Familiarity with Visio or similar information modeling tools
Familiarity with product management tools including Jira, Confluence and Mural
High level of organization, multi-tasking, and attention to detail
Good time management skills as well as demonstrated project management ability; ability to meet project deadlines and adjust work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to map business processes and data flow
Demonstrated ability to gather and document business requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. with 2 years in a scientific or technical discipline (such as biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, computer science, bioinformatics statistics, engineering)
Has worked as a scientist or IT analyst in a drug discovery or development environment
Familiarity with clinical or pre-clinical assay data capture, integration and consumption processes.
Familiarity with scientific software applications used for molecular/safety profiling, phenotypic screening, dose prediction, imaging, flow cytometry etc.
Good understanding of the processes involved in drug discovery and early development including target identification and validation, drug exposure, vaccines, bioanalytics, quantitative pharmacology, safety profiling and biomarker discovery
Programming skills (Python, R, etc); Experience with communication of data findings using visualization tools or dashboards (e.g. Spotfire, R -Shiny)
Familiarity with relational databases (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL). Data integration experience is a plus
Familiarity with cloud computing environments & applications.
Previous work experience in Agile-based development is a plus.
