The Senior Specialist of US Oncology Marketing Analytics will work closely with our company's Prostate Marketing team members to identify key business questions to address with specific datasets.

This role will be a critical team member of the US Oncology marketing analytics team and embedded with the US Oncology marketing team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and communicate actionable insights in the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders in Marketing, Finance, Forecasting and related functions to understand business problems and design end-to-end analytics solutions.

  • Assess commercial opportunities and provide commercial insights & business performance monitoring (with linkage to Financial Performance).

  • Support investor relation preparation and US executive leadership team presentations for US Oncology Marketing.

  • Work freely and collaboratively with other analytics team members to design the best analyses to address those questions; clearly articulate the rationale, hypotheses, and methodology of analytical approaches to stakeholders; deliver the results of those analyses in a clear and succinct way to key stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Synthesize data across varied datasets to arrive at a comprehensive and integrated understanding (the "story") of customer behaviors and needs.

  • Complete analyses to address specific business questions, utilizing a range of analytical and machine learning techniques and clearly communicate the results and insights to stakeholders.

  • Explore innovative approaches for meeting information needs, considering new and cutting-edge techniques and tools, when appropriate, to more quickly and efficiently address business requests.

  • Design and produce weekly and monthly performance reports: Explore new datasets, clean datasets, design repeatable processes to create professional data visualizations for key stakeholders, identify and articulate key trends and takeaways from reports, answer questions from stakeholders about trends and data nuances, automate reports to minimize maintenance effort, deliver actionable insights.

  • Independently manage competing priorities and demands from multiple stakeholders. Provides thought leadership by researching best practices, conducting experiments, and collaborating with data specialists and data scientists within the organization.

Education Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on data science, computer science, math, statistics, biomedical engineering (or equivalent knowledge) or Post Graduate Degree with focus on data science, computer science, math, statistics, biomedical engineering (or equivalent knowledge)

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in analytics or data science roles

  • Deriving actionable business insights from complex data; demonstrated ability to think strategically and objectively

  • Demonstrated interest in continual learning and constant improvement

  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport with stakeholders

  • Prioritizing and systematically addressing business questions from multiple stakeholders

  • Skilled in modern data analytics tools and techniques:

  • Demonstrated experience deriving meaningful business insights from expertly-designed analyses and models with complex data.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS or GUI data analysis tools such as Dataiku or Alteryx. Statistical knowledge and experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods

  • Proficiency in some of the following statistical techniques: Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis, etc.

  • Skilled in modern data visualization tools and techniques: 1) Demonstrated experience deriving meaningful business insights from appropriate visualizations of complex data; 2) Utilizing modern business intelligence tools (Qlik, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI)

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Working with healthcare data, especially in Oncology

  • Knowledge of data architecture and data engineering best practices: 1) Comfort with tools and scalable techniques to manage large datasets; 2) Knowledge of basic Amazon Web Services (AWS) services (Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR)); and 3) Big data solutions (Spark, Hadoop, etc.)

  • Skilled in modern data analytics tools and techniques with familiarity in deep learning tools and methods

  • Skilled in modern data visualization tools and techniques with familiarity with creating tools for broad consumption of data visualizations (Qlik, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
