What you'll be doing...

As Consultant of Product Marketing, you will provide critical support for developing, launching and maintaining new features and services for Straight Talk, Tracfone and Walmart Family Mobile businesses.

In this position, you will be responsible for helping the Senior Manager, Product Marketing develop strategies and execute product roadmaps that will drive customer acquisition, improve customer satisfaction and reduce churn. You will be actively working on analyzing data from multiple sources to develop the "what" and "why" of future product strategy and troubleshooting current operations. You will work closely with Commercial, Customer Marketing, Sales and Finance teams to align and prioritize work for Global Technology Services. This role requires strong project management skills, excellent communication skills and a general management mindset.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with Senior Manager, Product Marketing to identify business pain points and organize teams around solutions.
    • Conduct/commission/compile research into customer needs and behaviors and translate them into specific consumer insights that can be leveraged across projects.
    • Identify and collect business requirements from across the organization and align key stakeholders to their prioritization.
    • Build complete business cases for innovation projects and shepherd projects through commercialization by working with project managers, product owners, agile development teams, Sales, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.
  • Liaise with product and process owners to keep them focused on the Brand's business strategy and vision.
    • Define the high level product strategy for the brand and cascade/align with product and process owners to create detailed product roadmaps at the sub-product/feature level.
    • Collaborate, coordinate, negotiate and leverage activity with other brands to ensure alignment at the brand portfolio level, while still keeping brand priorities intact and front-of-mind across multiple teams and functions.
  • See the product through the consumer's eyes and translate their needs into business actions, whether it be bug fixes or new business opportunities.
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with development teams to make sure business requirements are well understood and being met.
  • Track, update and analyze product/project KPIs.

What we're looking for....

You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Be a strategic thinker and planner. Be able to not only identify emerging trends, but also predict how current actions will impact the future business.
  • Experience in product management, marketing research and business case development.
  • Passion for product strategy, operations, CX and UX.
  • Excellent project management, data analysis and presentation building skills.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving action in a matrix environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience regularly presenting to cross-functional audiences.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with innovation frameworks and concepts like Jobs To Be Done, Double Diamond Design Process and Design Thinking.
  • Experience working with suppliers/vendors to national retailers (e.g. Walmart).
  • Experience working with agile/scrum teams as a product owner (but this is not a developer job).
  • Experience working on a subscriber business.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $108,000.00 and $200,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more.
