Work you'll do

We are seeking a practitioner with data architecture experience to join an agile development team supporting an DOJ agency's analytics and data integration platform. As a core member of our team, you will work with stakeholders to understand data structures and reporting requirements; design, document, and maintain data models to store data; communicate/explain data structures to downstream development teams; support development of ETL processes to store data.

Candidates should have the following skills:

  • Ability to translate functional business data requirements to technical data architecture specifications
  • Ability to communicate data architecture to downstream developers and data consumers
  • Designing and documenting logical/physical data architectures and dimensional models
  • Working with dimensional data models, star schemas, dimensions, and facts
  • Experience working with slowly changing dimensions and conformance
  • Enterprise data warehousing and reporting
  • Strong understanding of SQL and ETL concepts
  • Experience working with major RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc..

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Required:
  • 5+ years translating functional business data into technical data architecture specifications
  • 5+ years communicating data architecture to downstream developers and data consumers
  • 5+ years designing and documenting logical/physical data architectures and dimensional models
  • 5+ years working with dimensional data models, star schemas, dimensions, and facts
  • 5+ years in enterprise data warehousing and reporting
  • 5+ years working in SQL and ETL concepts
  • 5+ years working with major RDBMS platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc..
  • Ability to support a DC based hybrid schedule
  • Carry an active Top Secret clearance or higher (no SCIF work)


Preferred:

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or Informatica
  • Experience with erwin Data Modeler
  • Working with and modeling complex hierarchical data
