We have an established and growing team around the globe already dedicated to building and running the delivery and overall experience of these events. This is an unprecedented opportunity that will strategically and methodically transform some of the largest, most operationally complex events in the world and inspire a new generation of leaders to create positive change through sport. We are building a team to design and build a foundation that preserves stability and consistent delivery while also facilitating scalable innovation for future events.

Work You'll Do

The Lead Enterprise Architect is responsible for the broad solution design of the international sport event technology ecosystem. The Lead Enterprise Architect will drive solution design for part of the core solution but will be engaged with and advise all stakeholders within the games' ecosystem including governing bodies, organizing committees, sponsors, and suppliers. This role will work across countries, Deloitte Member Firms, and in collaboration with our Third-Party Partners.

  • Establish, facilitate, and lead cross-company architecture committees
  • Own creation of key architecture design documents
  • Supervise a small team but wield broad influence across technology domains to include infrastructure, network, cloud, applications, security, and operations.
  • Must be credible in the role, culturally sensitive with a collaborative working style.
  • Able to quickly gain the confidence and respect of governing bodies, organizing committees, and service providers

Qualifications

Required
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, engineering, technical architecture, application development and mission-critical systems
  • 10+ years of technical management, leadership, and mentoring junior developers/architects
  • 10+ years' experience in global games sporting events with solid understanding of the related ecosystem of players, delivery expectations, and timelines
  • Strong focus on risk management
  • Experienced in straddling the business/technology divide as a true enterprise architect, as an applied scientist
  • Travel up to 50%. Periodic trips to Switzerland, US, and future host cities; regular travel to host city not every week, but some extended stays); potential for relocation to Europe (Madrid).
  • US work authorization. Limited sponsorship may be available.
