Eatons Marketing Commercial Operations currently seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha, WI location.Position Overview:The primary function of an Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) role will be to support management, the outside sales team, and internal/external customers in providing effective solutions to challenging problems involving technical, service, and commercial issues in the Eaton Power Systems Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Creating well written customer proposals based on a customer request for quote and/or a specification using the Power Systems Division (PSD) quotation system(s). The ISE will assist the outside sales team to follow through on proposals, track opportunities via Eatons CRM and develop strong working relationships with customers. They will act as a technical and commercial resource to field sales and will take on project management activities as needed of power distribution, power protection, and power equipment maintenance; including electrical solutions from complex custom industrial and commercial applications. They will partake in post order management activities to support the customer throughout the entire order process.The primary functions include; managing the commercial and technical aspects of large orders by meeting customer specifications and timelines for all deliverables including but not limited to: customer relationship management, project financial management, technical project management, documentation (submittals, engineered drawings, O&Ms), coordination of equipment manufacture and delivery, equipment assembly / startup support, and addressing quality concerns. This role utilizes various system tools (i.e. SAP, CPQ/Bidman, Microsoft Excel and Word, and C360) to manage customer and project activities.In this function you will:+ Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications, determine the minimum bill of material, competitive price levels and shipment cycle within the market segment pertaining to each specific negotiation+ Proactively facilitate timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedures for resolution+ Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers (internal and external) by effectively employing product knowledge, application engineering, sales acumen, a high level of awareness of the customers business as well as the strategic plan for growth by Eatons various product lines+ Build strategic partnerships with outside sales team members, Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and internal Eaton support teams+ Work closely with Marketing, Logistics, and Finance to resolve sales support and commercial issues.+ Coordinate meetings as needed to discuss project status and communicate with key players.+ Shares team responsibility for hitting sales targets and market growth objectives for outside sales teams supported within this role+ Take incoming Technical Support calls within the Customer Service Center to support our customers with technical questionsMaking what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required+ One year of professional work experience in a technical support role+ Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Preferred qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution+ Minimum of 3 years of product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field+ Experience with or exposure to a manufacturing organizationEaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
