Opportunities Available

As an MBA Marketing intern at Stryker, you will be placed on one of the following teams:

Strategic Development

Strategic Development interns will

  • Collect, manage, organize and disseminate market intelligence to contribute to institutional knowledge management and build business insights

  • Conduct global market research (including customer surveys) and overall market segment analysis to determine feasibility and value for the pursuit of new commercialization opportunities for the neurovascular division

  • Analyze market share, procedural volume data and customer demographics to drive insights and determine market trends

  • Manage market activity including research activities, interpret research and communicate potential business impacts and give insights to product teams

  • Produce direct and indirect customer needs assessments

  • Coordinate multiple inputs from various internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, R&D, clinical, finance, quality, etc.) to create comprehensive, cohesive understanding of business needs

  • Manage financial modeling (financial statements, market modeling, sensitivity analysis, etc.)

  • Create business plans, develop and deliver proposal presentations

Product Management

All Product Management interns will work on a strategic project that will have a significant impact on the direction of the business. As an MBA intern, you will work with the marketing team to appropriately frame and scope your strategic initiative. You will consider its implications on a global scale through VOC, via internal and external customers, market research, and analytical rigor. You will have the opportunity to present your recommendations to senior leadership at the conclusion of your internship.

Product Management Intern – Regional Marketing

Field Marketing interns will work with the Stryker Field Marketing team to focus on product line alignment with strategic needs of business, utilizing classical marketing principles in real world business settings. They may also:

  • Analyze market share and procedure volumes information with an eye towards trends and shifts in the market

  • Understand different franchises within North America and how the sales force impacts delivery of marketing messages and the success of a product launch

  • Learn how competition and competitive responses impact the market and the importance of this dynamic for organizational success

  • Understand the importance of downstream marketing programs and life cycle management in the success of market product portfolios

  • Develop marketing collateral/sales tools that will advance key product messaging and launch to field sales

  • Understand the role and impact of global and regional Marketing teams within a global medical device company

  • Follow all quality procedures and internal processes

Product Management Intern - Global Marketing

Global Marketing interns will be responsible for supporting a project or product line. The emphasis is on learning the business, gaining confidence, proving sound decision making skills and the ability to demonstrate leadership in a team environment. Interns will:

  • Understand and assist with strategic planning, GMA forecasting, and supply chain and operational management

  • Understand how new franchise markets are identified and assist in defining these opportunities

  • Understand key franchise technologies and assist new product design and development within the TDP/PDP matrix

  • Understand the market for franchise products and assist in the market science process, usage patterns and competitive activities, formulation of customer segmentation and product positioning models, messaging, and channel management. Understand key opinion leader relationships

  • Understand Stryker’s global downstream marketing and sales network and support franchise downstream marketing efforts

  • Understand traditional franchise markets, strategy and messaging, and contribute to addressing competitive challenges

  • Understand Stryker’s systems and processes to support franchise product development and management

  • Establish key relationships in cross-functional teams, other franchises and domestic sales

  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Project Management- PMO

PMO interns support active product development projects. They also play a role in improving analysis of these projects from timelines to budgets to resource reporting. Interns in the past have provided incredible contribution to our never-ending quest of providing the best and easiest-to-read data for our division’s executives.

What You Need

  • Undergraduate degree required (engineering, biological sciences, or business degree preferred) + candidate for Masters in Business Administration

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.

  • 1-5 years of successful related business experience

  • Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed team environment

  • Strong results orientation

  • Strong willingness to learn
