Job Description

Our Animal Health Marketing team takes a customer centric perspective using customer feedback and market intelligence data. Using this data, we design, develop and deploy products, platforms, brands and marketing initiatives that ensure we can improve the health and well-being of animals everywhere.

Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Technical Service will have the opportunity to develop Aquatic Health Solutions, by integrating our industry leading Biopharma portfolio with cutting edge technology enabling farmers and conservationists to monitor for insights, optimize with precision, and benchmark for performance. Reporting to the Global Aqua Marketing Lead the postholder will be a member of our Company Animal Health Global Aqua Marketing Team.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not exclusive to): Lead a cross functional team to Develop and Deploy Integrated Solutions:

  • Solution development and lifecycle management:

    • Lead ideation process for hatchery solutions

    • Compile insights and needs from internal and external stakeholders to facilitate prioritization for product improvements and solution development

    • As project manager lead a cross functional team to develop integrated BioPharma and technology solutions

    • Product performance support (training, education, implementation)

    • Forecasting and sales follow up (budget vs. performance) to support regional sales

  • Portfolio positioning and management:

    • Solution management - overseeing all products portfolio to ensure consistency among products and deliverables and prioritize resources for each area according to its contribution to the portfolio.

    • Support product positioning - Telling the broader solution story to the market (combined value proposition)

    • Competitive analysis - competitive intelligence and trends

  • Co-lead the New Product/Solution Introduction (NPI) Team

    • Manage 12-18 months NPI portfolio planning

    • Enable NPI transparency to the regions to allow proper budgeting and planning

    • Manage quarterly NPI meetings

    • Develop training materials for local sales and service

    • Develop user guides

    • Work with marketing to develop launch plans

  • Commercialization:

    • Support marketing in the development of dedicated content and messaging

    • Support new product introduction marketing and communication deliverables

    • Reinforce strong channel marketing program to leverage new and existing partners for increased demand generation

    • Develop and deploy training for sales and service

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has strong experience in sales or marketing of precision farming technologies, livestock industry, and in animal health. (S)he will possess a balance between strong strategic and commercial experience to be able to lead and problem-solve across a wide variety of marketing, sales, business development, manufacturing, and supply chain related topics. A driven, hands-on, and energetic personality, (s)he will be a natural self-starter with a focused approach to problem solving and a willingness to roll their sleeves up to achieve their objectives.

Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • 4+ years’ experience in Sales or Marketing in the animal health value chain e.g., animal health, nutrition, aquaculture, genetics, or technology. Global experience is very relevant to the role.

  • Proven ability to synthesize customer insights and market analysis into successful commercial strategies.

  • Able to convey complex ideas; prioritize business needs and objectives; and implement comprehensive strategies.

  • Experience in product ideation and product profile definition

Seasoned leader with the ability to align fellow peers across functions and markets to drive progress on strategic objectives.

  • Strategic and analytical thinker with practical, hands on approach to solving problems.

  • Structured thinker who can inform and influence at senior levels and build consensus through rigorous analysis and clear communication.

  • Great communication, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders including customer organizations and third parties.

  • Must demonstrate excellent project management skills

  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced innovation environment

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external partners

  • Must have a strong sense of ownership in securing results

  • Regional and international travel (50%)

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, biology, or a related field or

  • High School Diploma plus 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in the Aquaculture industry

  • Experience working closely with technology partners, internal or external

  • Start-up experience
