Job Description:

Biologics and Vaccines Analytics (BVA), in our Manufacturing Division, is responsible for the commercialization of large molecule, vaccines and biologics, analytical techniques from Phase III through launch and transfer to supply. This team is highly motivated, fast-paced and focused on the rapid advancement of our Company's large molecule vaccine pipeline, plus growth of existing vaccine products. We also provide in-line analytical support to enable world-wide robust product availability.

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Associate Scientist for ELISA-based potency assays in support of our vaccine programs. This position will work in a GXP environment under the direction of a laboratory lead and will be expected to execute vaccine potency assays utilizing immunoassays (i.e. ELISA) or other binding-based methodology. The candidate will work with team colleagues to deliver high quality results for these immunoassays, supporting assay development, validation/ transfer, technical troubleshooting, process development testing and regulatory submissions.

Specific Job Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Analytical ELISA method development, robustness, validation

  • Execution of ELISA methods to test process development samples

  • Documentation of laboratory execution applying Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Scale-up and optimization of bioassay methods.

  • Management of individual project deliverables as they fit into the larger overreaching project timelines.

  • Authoring of technical documents that support Biological License Applications (BLAs).

  • Commercial life-cycle management of analytical strategy for vaccines.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science with at least 1 year of relevant experience in analytical execution, development, validation, and/or quality control (QC).

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Understanding and experience with bioassays, specifically immunoassays (such as ELISA, EIA) or other binding based assay technology.

  • Ability to independently follow procedures and work within a cross-functional team

  • Ability to learn new techniques

  • Good technical, communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and teamwork skills

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) laboratory environment in the area of large molecules (vaccines, biologics) with experience in immunochemical analytical methods\

  • Experience with Electronic Notebook and LIMS systems.
