Position Summary:

The Market Director (MD) is primarily responsible for leading the business strategy to drive overall top line growth and
bottom line accountability, business and talent performance of the assigned Division, including individual and group sales.
The MD is also responsible for developing talent strategies to ensure appropriate staff levels, quality of hires, and the
development of high performing Managers through regular and effective coaching, mentoring, and education initiatives.
This role will oversee and/or manage new Agent training and development system(s) ensuring a high level of initial success
and incremental growth through improved Agent tenure. The MD will implement business standards and operational
procedures in accordance with Company guidelines and expectations, he/she will create an environment centered on
individual achievement and team performance while providing training to develop and maintain a positive mental attitude
philosophy throughout the Division.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Planning:

  • Define clear roles & responsibilities, goals and expectations for the Division
  • Assess and adapt plans and priorities to address service gaps and/or operational challenges
  • Drive team accountability for top line growth, performance and results ; address deficiencies through use of
  • performance management and/or development plans aligned with Combined practices
  • Make recommendations on employee pay decisions , promotions or demotions, changes for professional services or supervisors
  • Fosters and promotes a culture of team diversity and alignment to the values of Combined/Chubb

Division Results:

  • Accountability for driving the business plan by developing short and long-term goals to execute/achieve Division
  • sales goals. Define the standards and specifications around which the team will operate to achieve the set goals
  • Monitor and coach team members to achieve performance standards according to their role
  • Understand how areas collectively integrate, collaborate and contribute within the Division to contribute to
  • achieving the goals of the business
  • Familiar with how competitors differentiate themselves by understanding latest developments or changes of
  • market conditions in the market/sector
  • Review post Sales documentation received from Managers
  • Collect and report Division results on a daily and weekly basis or as requested
  • Analyse and manage individual business results for all levels (below) of the Division
  • Work with senior management to identify good/bad practices and continuously improve execution in the Division

Recruiting:

  • Create recruiting plan(s) to meet Division?s current and future staffing needs. Leverage and partner with appropriate resources to execute set plan(s)
  • Conduct interviews and select qualified candidates for field demonstrations (demos)
  • Work with Division Managers to make final hiring decisions

Training & Development:

  • Assess team?s strengths and weaknesses and develops action plans to address gaps and/or maintain high performance
  • Oversee and ensure proper execution of new Agent training and development program(s) according to Combined standards and expectations
  • Coach and develop high performing Managers according to Combined training programs, standards, and expectations

Meetings:

  • Host the following meetings:
    • Weekly 3-day meeting system
    • Monthly full day meeting with entire Division
    • Monthly full day meeting with new Agents
    • Bi-weekly full day meeting with all Agency Managers
  • Attend team check-ins at his/her discretion
