What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Graphic Designer (Senior Designer) provides graphic design expertise for all 2D Retail Design/Branded Environments in Verizon’s in-house agency as part of the Creative Marketing Group. Working in collaboration with counterpart Architects, Display Designers and Graphic Designers (3D and 2D Creative Design), this position contributes to the success and look and feel (interior concepts, materials and finishes) in all Verizon-branded environments.

This is a hands-on position for someone with demonstrated achievements in brand and retail excellence, who can successfully manage the balance between business, technology and design. We are looking for a creative who will help Verizon become the leader in store design and experience.

The Senior Designer has the needed skills to translate business requirements into clear design direction in a physical environment. This person has worked with large iconic brands, and can turn the most unique custom experience into scalable programs for our large fleet of retail locations and customer touch points.

  • Crafting the print, digital, spatial and interactive design elements that define Verizon’s presence within our retail spaces and branded environments. Collaborating with counterpart graphic designers, architects, interior designers, industrial designers, strategists and copywriters, you’ll drive continuity between Verizon’s web, app, advertising, retail and social experiences.
  • Owning creative development and stakeholder presentations while guiding junior team members. Remain hands-on through a project’s completion, collaborating with production teams and partners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and design excellence.
  • Balancing business and technology requirements with creative excellence to turn unique solutions into scalable systems for our expansive and varied brand footprint. Maintain the utmost respect for project and design details to stay on time, on budget and on strategy.
  • Executing on and extend the strategy and design of our Next Gen concept store, continually refining and evolving its experience - with specific focus on narrative development, typographic systems, photography, and materials - with limited input and guidance from senior team members.
  • Ensuring brand guidelines and directives are implemented, embraced and adhered to in all executions while exploring new interpretations and approaches to advance the brand.
  • Honing the integrated team’s overall performance, embracing a collaborative approach and actively concepting and working within large and small interdisciplinary teams.
  • Recommending research and develop contemporary spatial experiences, translating research, analytics and brand insights into creative strategy and execution.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in guiding junior team members.
  • Experience in Adobe CC.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree in graphic design or a relevant field.
  • Four or more years of studio experience.
  • Demonstrated success building iconic brands.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of thinking and executional versatility.
  • Strong knowledge of type-led identity systems.
  • Experience in developing sustainable, eco-friendly systems.
  • Good presentation skills.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a New York work location, the compensation range for this position is between $96,000 and $178,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
