The Market Vice President provides the leadership, management and vision to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. Positions in this function include those responsible for planning and directing aspects for the states of Rhode Island and Connecticut, operational policies, objectives, and initiatives.

If you are located in RI and CT, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Day to day site operations - includes oversight of network, sales, clinical and administrative teams
  • P&L responsibility
  • Top tier contract negotiation
  • Financial and non-financial results (budgets and actual)
  • Daily operations of multiple levels of staff and multiple functions / departments across one or more sites
  • Project management and planning related to the CCM business
  • Develops functional strategy, plans, and organizational priorities
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and provide strategic direction for all market activities
  • Identify strategic partnerships in the market and develop strategies to execute, maintain and measure success
  • Responsible for driving the market to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, business goals and objectives
  • Development and execution of market network strategy
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of processes internal and external (to include staff effectiveness and customer profitability)
  • Involve the sales and network organization to achieve monthly results, including gross adds (same store and new business)
  • Lead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans to support the rapid growth objectives of our market
  • Act as lead 'client-manager' through direct contact with our clients (national accounts and partners (individual SNFs); oversee client-specific account management
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company
  • Drive market success for current year and beyond, through ongoing partnerships and strategies externally and internally

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of healthcare experience
  • Operations management experience
  • Solid P&L experience
  • Health systems or local care delivery systems background

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Medicaid or Long Term Care experience

Connecticut Residents Only: The salary range for Connecticut residents is $134,200 to $257,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
