We are seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Chemical Biology Team at our Cambridge, MA research site. Working in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team, you will launch a research project leveraging novel chemical biology tools to drive targeted and programmable degradation of RNA. You will design, develop, and execute biochemical and cell assays to discover mechanisms mediating RNA elimination and then co-opt those mechanisms for the degradation of disease-relevant RNA targets. Education Minimum Requirement:

  • PhD in chemical biology, chemistry, biological sciences, or a related field

  • Less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience or plans to graduate with a PhD by the next year.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A track record of achievement in independently designing and executing experiments

  • Highly self-motivated, creative, and critical thinking to solve complex technical and scientific problems with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills

  • Ability to analyze and intepret diverse types of scientific data

  • Ability to work independently yet team-oriented and able to build strong relationships in highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Mammalian cell culture as well as development and execution of luminescence- or fluorescence-based cell assays strongly preferred

  • In vitro manipulation and analysis of RNA

  • Transient or stable transfection of cells

  • Bioorthogonal chemistry, fluorescent probes, and other chemical biology tools

  • Molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western Blot, cloning, etc)

  • Synthetic chemistry experience preferred, but not required

  • Familiarty or experience with next generation sequencing workflows a plus, but not required
