Position Overview:
The Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism & Bioanalytic (PDMB) Department in West Point Pennsylvania is currently seeking a talented postdoctoral fellow with outstanding skills to utilize next generation high resolution ion mobility mass spectrometry (HRIM-MS) platform to perform in-depth characterization of sphingolipids in cellular models of neurodegenerative disease (NDDs).

In this role, the postdoc fellow will develop and implement innovative approaches to profile sphingolipids to deepen our understanding of neurodegenerative disease, by utilizing cutting edge analytical technologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interact with multidisciplinary collaborators and solicit input from neuroscience colleagues to shape and execute bioanalytical experiments. This includes but not limited to:
Develop untargeted LC-HRIM-MS method to profile sphingolipids, followed by validation.
Create a HRIM specific sphingolipids database/library.
Use validated method to profile sphingolipids in transgenic iPSC and other primary cell models carrying mutations related to NDDs.
Develop and apply novel data analysis workflows as needed.
Prepare manuscripts for novel findings.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Ph.D. Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field to be completed within the next year.
Required Experience and Skills:
Experience with Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry required.
Experience in lipidomic analysis would be a strong advantage.
Motivated to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the-art technologies.
Demonstrated wet lab and basic in-vitro biology skills.
Sound skills in big data processing and visualization
Excellent communication skills (written, presentation, and oral)
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with peers within and across departments.
Demonstrated ability to prepare peer-reviewed publications.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experiences and strong interests in lipidomic approach with proficiency in bioinformatic software packages (Skyline, Agilent software tools, pathway enrichment workflows)
Experiences in working with biological matrices and cell lines.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
