Be a part of the legacy: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program
Our Research Laboratories’ Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program aims to be a best-in-industry program for industrial postdoctoral researchers, designed to provide you with an academic focus in a commercial environment. With the resources, reach, and expertise of a large pharmaceutical company, postdoctoral researchers will be positioned to excel in an institution committed to breakthrough innovation in research and discovery.
The Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism & Bioanalytic (PDMB) Department in West Point Pennsylvania is currently seeking a talented postdoctoral fellow with outstanding skills to utilize next generation high resolution ion mobility mass spectrometry (HRIM-MS) platform to perform in-depth characterization of sphingolipids in cellular models of neurodegenerative disease (NDDs).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organization and contribute to our mission of improving the health and well-being of people around the world. In this role, the postdoc fellow will develop and implement innovative approaches to profile sphingolipids to deepen our understanding of neurodegenerative disease, by utilizing cutting edge analytical technologies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interact with multidisciplinary collaborators and solicit input from neuroscience colleagues to shape and execute bioanalytical experiments. This includes but not limited to:
Develop untargeted LC-HRIM-MS method to profile sphingolipids, followed by validation.
Create a HRIM specific sphingolipids database/library.
Use validated method to profile sphingolipids in transgenic iPSC and other primary cell models carrying mutations related to NDDs.
Develop and apply novel data analysis workflows as needed.
Prepare manuscripts for novel findings.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Ph.D. Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field to be completed within the next year.
Required Experience and Skills:
Experience with Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry required.
Experience in lipidomic analysis would be a strong advantage.
