If so, lets talk.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIn this unique leadership role, you will facilitate key conversations with clients that triangulate between the leading-edge computer science research coming out of our labs, the client's business goals, and what bold vision we might collaborate on together. **In your role you will:**+ Learn and understand the strategy of IBM Research, from the high-level vision, to the concrete innovations and offerings, and the work being done by our competitors. As a result, you will form a compelling, differentiated point of view of what makes us competitive.+ Learn about and advocate for our client needs, in order to inform and design paths and methods for conversation and collaboration.+ Collaborate with internal teams of business consultants and technical experts to define intent/goals of a client event or workshop+ Select, customize, or build from scratch appropriate hands-on design thinking workshop activities that will drive the determined intent/goals+ Provide input for creative team (designers, video production specialists) to ensure event video or other digital communication is working to provide an experience for clients that is unified with the event or workshop intent/goals.+ Set a lively and dynamic tone during client workshops. One that invites the client to participate actively and gets _them_ talking.+ Perform active facilitation and leadership role during client workshops, guiding clients through activities and moving the conversation forward in a designated time frame.+ Collaborate with the internal IBM client team to synthesize workshop outputs, and create intelligent summaries and artifacts and share with the client after.+ Drive continuous improvement by facilitating internal team retrospectives, and identifying opportunities where the team can improve both the client experience, and raising the level of best practices on the team.+ Work with several IBM internal stakeholders including business development, client executive teams, and technical leaders to understand client needs, and achieve alignment around how our events and workshops can better serve themCurrently our team is working remote due to COVID. When we are able to safely return to the workplace the candidate should be located in the greater NYC area.Required Technical and Professional Expertise+ Fluency and demonstrated ability to connect dots across design, business and technical domains+ 5+ years of facilitation or consulting experience in either agency or corporate models+ Deep familiarity with human-centered design (design thinking) activities and methods, and demonstrated ability to apply them in real-world situations.+ Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with innovation teams within large organizations+ Strong understanding of business strategy and early product development+ Strong communication and presentation skills+ Strong professional etiquette and relationship development sensibilities.+ Demonstrated leadership and teamwork qualitiesPreferred Technical and Professional Expertise+ MBA or equivalent+ Educational background or demonstrated knowledge in computer science, data science, and business strategy/consulting+ Product management experience in AI and/or data science+ Experience consulting for major organizations+ Formal training in communication and negotiatioAbout Business UnitWith more than 3,000 researchers in 12 labs located across six continents, IBM Research brings together hundreds of researchers who possess unparalleled industry expertise to address some of the world's most challenging problems.
