Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative PhD-level computational scientist to join our South San Francisco site to develop, apply, and leverage new and existing computational approaches to analyze and predict the properties of monoclonal antibodies, leveraging our company's rich internal data sets. The development of these methods will directly facilitate the design and production of improved antibodies. Additionally, the data will shed light on key biophysical properties and descriptors that are important for optimal developability of this biologics modality. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with, and learn from, computational and experimental scientists across our research labs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing and applying machine learning approaches for analysis and prediction of antibody properties leveraging our company's data sets
Predicting and describing the 3D structure and conformation of monoclonal antibodies
Generating QSAR models and deriving descriptors
Collaborate with experimental groups across our company to deploy, test, and validate modeling tools, and potentially aid in experimental design and execution
Education Minimum Requirement:
Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR will receive a PhD by Fall 2022
Required Experience and Skills:
Programming/scripting experience (e.g. Python, bash)
Experience applying computational methods to study large biological or chemical data sets
Demonstrated scientific ability through publications and/or presentations in scientific conferences
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience with protein structure and/or sequence analysis
Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and/or deep learning methods
Experience or familiarity with molecular biology, biochemistry, analysis, protein engineering and/or antibody engineering and display technologies
Familiarity with PyTorch, MOE SVL, and R are a plus but not required
Strong communication and collaboration skills
