We are seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Scientist passionate about the application of the latest analytical technologies within pharmaceutical drug discovery. Working within the Bioanalytics Department in Pre-Clinical Development (PCD), you will be building a foundational understanding of Acoustic Ejection-Mass Spectrometry (AE-MS). AE-MS brings data acquisition times down by 10-100x or more compared with traditional discovery high throughput quantitative LC-MS/MS approaches opening up possibilities of redefining not just bioanalytical strategy, but also how experiments are designed and executed. Based in New Jersey, you will have access to a laboratory containing production, preproduction and research grade AE-MS instrumentation. Taking the foundational knowledge you build, you will be working with cross-functional teams and take part of a research collaboration with the instrument vendor to define strategies for rapid AE-MS method development. You will apply this to the development of new workflows within Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) and evaluate the potential for the technology in the real-time analysis of kinetic experiments related to Drug-Drug Interaction (DDI).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and execution of experiments to build Structure Activity Relationship for mass spectrometry ionization efficiency. You will work with chemistry, automation and compound logistics, bioanalytics and data science teams.

  • Develop a strategy for rapid AE-MS method optimization and apply it to a real-world bioanalytical application in DMPK.

  • Develop an understanding for application of AE-MS in real-time analysis of enzyme kinetic experiments.

  • Continue to build upon our company's research collaboration with the instrument vendor.

  • Actively engage in the education and training of our company's colleagues.

  • Write, publish and present (internally and externally) findings.
