As a Research Scientist II, you will have an opportunity to join the NIBR Biologics Center (NBC) and be at the cutting edge, leading the development of innovative medicines that can improve lives of patients.<br><br>What you'll be doing:<br>• Executing the development and optimization of new protein and nucleic acid analytical methods for the characterization of AAV based gene therapies. Performing at least two analytical techniques (for example SEC-UPLC and CE-SDS) without supervision.<br><br>· Serving as the local point of contact for at least 1 analytical technique, including training other personnel in the technique and interfacing with other internal experts and vendors.<br><br>· Helping to design experiments with supervision, then independently implementing them to characterize research grade AAV Gene Therapy Drug Substance, AAV process intermediate samples, and process related impurities.<br><br>· Independently analyzing complex scientific data and helping to interpret and plan follow up experiments with supervision.<br><br>· Documenting your experimental design, implementation, and results in an electronic laboratory notebook following good documentation practices.<br><br>· Authoring reports and presentations with supervision. Presenting experimental plans and results to internal and external multi-disciplinary audiences.<br><br>· Acting as a key point of contact for general laboratory management activities including scheduling preventative maintenance on various instruments, tracking laboratory consumables and reagents, and shipping and receiving samples.<br><br>[#video#https://youtu.be/ggbnzRY9z8w{#400,300#}#/video#]
