1 Global Discovery Chemistry community working across multiple disease areas at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to join our department in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will join an energizing and collaborative research organization, working alongside colleagues who are committed to improving human health through the discovery of transformative medicines.<br><br>Synthetic Technologies works to bring innovative solutions to tomorrow’s medicines. The group combines synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry and high-throughput automation expertise to build targeted compound libraries and evaluate compounds with respect to physiochemical and ADMET properties. <br><br>We are seeking a scientist with analytical chemistry experience and an interest in laboratory automation to join to our interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to high-throughput small molecule purification workflows as well as automation support of compound plating and assays. Basic coding skills in Python and an interest in scripting methods for complex workflows would be beneficial. <br><br>Your responsibilities will include:<br><br>- Carrying out automated analytical chemistry workflows and subsequent fraction pooling and dose response plating workflows<br><br>- Perform LC-MS based analytical chemistry and purification workflows<br><br>- Support, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and laboratory robotics<br><br>- Iteration and optimization of existing automation scripts and workflows<br><br>- Design and execution of novel liquid handling and plate automation routines to enable reaction screening, library synthesis and compound profiling<br><br>- Interact effectively within a fast-paced team-oriented environment<br><br>- Communicate results and challenges effectively to both experts and non-experts<br><br>[#video#https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/ggbnzRY9z8w{#400,300#}#/video#]
