Job Description

The Associate Director, Market Research & Analytics Oncology, HHDDA will be responsible for developing and communicating data-driven and actionable insights that drive greater customer and market understanding to inform launch strategies, business development opportunities and help meet in-line commercial objectives. The individual in this role will act as a “First” point of contact for our commercial teams and will quarter back cross functional teams (across market research, data strategy, analytics, forecasting, measurement, operations and strategy) for key engagements, to help scope, design and deliver well-defined projects and insights, track value ‘at stake’ and value realized.

The preferred candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, consultative mindset, understanding of healthcare & pharma data & technology, ability to create structure and break down unstructured problem statements into solvable chunks, articulate what needs to be answered through new pieces of research and what needs to be addressed through secondary data driven analytics. The candidate should be able to identify the data needs to address the needs of our business partners, partner with market research, data strategy, data science and other Centers of Excellence (COE)/Core capability leads within Human Health Digital, Data & Analytics (HHDDA) to identify the appropriate data sources and analytics solutions to define, enable and inform commercial strategies. The candidate will have demonstrated consistently strong leadership skills, an ability to work independently and/or lead a team and work extensively with a larger cross functional team. The person will be required to have a growth mindset and embody a culture of continuous learning. This role will require interfacing and collaborating with many teams. Strong communication skills is essential for a candidate to be successful in this role. Individuals who will thrive in this role are motivated by developing a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical business and possess an ability to define and translate objectives and business questions into solvable pieces, drive solutioning, enable inter-connected problem solving and produce actionable insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Global insights to inform business decisions for an oral oncology project within an alliance between two pharmaceutical companies

  • Inform choice of appropriate analytical techniques/methodologies for secondary data sources and/or primary market research solutions leveraging your understanding of pharmaceutical data landscape

  • Robust understanding of the commercial value chain in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry: Business dev, Pipeline management, commercial development and launch and inline management.

  • Understand business stakeholders' priorities and help develop data and analytical solutions that support business objectives in collaboration with the broader commercial insight teams

  • Ability to be a thought leader and strategic partner for our business partners.

  • Have a deep understanding of the therapeutic area you support, understand the key takeaways from work done till date across market research, forecasting and commercial analytics.

  • Establish and manage close relationships with partners and stakeholders in within HHDDA, marketing, sales, business operations, medical and finance.

  • Ability to lead agile working teams and PODs comprised of cross-functional stakeholder groups to solve a wide variety of business questions that enable and inform brand and marketing strategy.

  • Public Communicate & collaborate effectively with broader ecosystem with competencies in market research, forecasting, customer engagement, data strategy, population health, marketing operations, medical & clinical backgrounds.

  • Comfortable generating insights from market research, secondary data driven analytics & quantitative analysis to create actionable insights that answers the ‘so what’ and ‘now what’ and help realize business value

  • Articulate how the work done till date ties to business priorities, identify unmet needs and gaps that needs to be addressed, develop a plan to address the additional needs and/or gaps to enable brand and commercial strategy by working with the functional leaders across Human Health Digital, Data and Analytics organization.

  • Understand the full book of work that is underway and planned in support of a brand, tumor, indication or business unit.

  • Work with cross functional teams to articulate the value or impact of each piece of work.

  • Work with marketing leadership to prioritize the work that needs to be done considering the capacity availability within HHDDA.
