Associate Director, Cost Accounting

This position is part of the COSI (Cost of Sales & Inventory) organization, which will perform end to end activities of accounting and costing for inventory through the supply chain.

In this role the Associate Director will interact with and support our Company's Manufacturing Division and Global Human Health (GHH) stakeholders, lead the team to ensure costing activities are performed appropriately and support monthly financial close activities. The Associate Director will also be responsible for reviewing and reporting results and analyzing monthly results with management for multiple companies and plants. The Associate Director will lead a team of 3-4 people who will report directly into this position.

This role is responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a high-performance team including performance appraisal assessments.

  • Owner of the global product costing policies and procedures in alignment with other regional counterparts in COSI

  • Ensure costing activities are performed according to US GAAP rules and additional local regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure appropriate and adequate internal controls are in place in accordance with corporate procedures and participate in internal and external audits.

  • Responsible for providing monthly financial process results related to production variances, inventory adjustments, absorption and intercompany profit elimination to assigned sites and providing high level commentary

  • Perform ad-hoc cost consolidation analysis to support business decisions

  • Responsible for monthly reporting and analysis of assigned companies for Cost of Sales and inventory balances on a legal and consolidated basis.

  • Provide support to COSI Above Market team

  • Coordinate and supervise yearly product cost calculations for future year and provide local and global productivity analysis

  • Responsible for review of Idle Capacity and Profit Plan (new standards) calculations for annual Manufacturing Division budget

  • Implement tools and enhanced reporting within group to ensure on-going efficiency and process improvements

  • Provide accurate and timely support to business partners, addressing functional stakeholder inquiries

  • Participate in enterprise-wide projects, where COSI plays a vital role having end to end oversight on manufacturing cost.

  • Advise and support senior management in business decisions

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar finance role. Experience within manufacturing finance is a plus.

  • Proven strong people management skills and ability to build a high-performance organization

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and able to simplify complex concepts

  • Natural drive to seek improvement and challenge the status quo

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Natural coach with a drive to engage in development

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Good SAP knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • FSA knowledge

  • Able to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

  • Ability to robustly challenge decisions with reasoned financial justification

  • Ability to see the broader picture and how decisions could affect the site, region, division, and company

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected salary range:

$107,600.00 - $169,400.00
