Associate Director - US Controllers

As part of the US Controllers (USC) organization this role will help ensure the financial integrity of our Company's largest legal entities and support the results reported in the consolidated financial statements for the Company.

This position will collaborate cross functionally with all areas of our Company to ensure activities operate in well controlled financial environment.

The primary responsibilities will include being the lead business partner with the US Global Human Health organization as well as provide US Payroll general ledger support. The business partnership activities will enable the successful candidate to gain an understanding of our Company’s product portfolio, gross to net sales accounting, PGM analytics, operating expense analysis and other accounting and operational matters.

As a member of the USC team, additional opportunities will exist to get involved with legal entity integration/separation activities, analyzing and certifying financial statements of multiple legal entities and assistance with the completion of entity forecasts.

It is a unique opportunity to combine accounting skills while gaining knowledge of the financial planning and analysis process.

More Specific Responsibilities include:

  • This position supports all accounting activities for the US domestic entities and divisional operations for the Global Human Health division (including our Company's Vaccines), serving as US Controller business partner for monthly book close accounting activities

  • Handle various sales accounting functions for the US market including gross-to-net reserves and revenue recognition, working with the Order Management Center and teams in both GHH Finance and GHH operations

  • Participation in accounting and reconciliations for our Company's-Sanofi Pasteur Vaccine Joint Venture

  • Management of US Controller activities associated with Payroll Accounting exercising collaboration with HR / Payroll Operations to investigate and resolve open accounting items

  • Partner with Business Service Center-Americas (BSC) and Genpact to ensure completeness of financial close related activity and other BSC support functions

  • Interact with multiple areas within our Company's Finance including Consolidation Accounting, Divisional Financial Services, Accounting Standards, Global Business Services

  • Apply knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles across a broad range of transactions and business situations, e.g. divestitures/acquisitions, restructurings, product launches or LOE, legal entity integrations, etc.

  • Direct and indirect oversight of staff and related activities providing employee development and mentoring

  • Develop relevant business knowledge of our Company's divisional operations

  • Respond to all audit inquiries and testing for both internal and external audit groups

  • Lead and/or participates on special projects or teams as required

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in an accounting or finance related role

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and in a team environment

  • Possesses conceptual understanding of accounting principles

  • Flexible work style in changing work environment

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • CPA or MBA

  • Knowledge of Excel, SAP, APPIAN, FSA, FCCS/Smartview and Blackline

  • Effective multi-tasking and time management skills

  • Possess ability to read, comprehend and analyze external financial statements

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected salary range:

$107,600.00 - $169,400.00
