The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is a crucial member of the Hyperautomation Team to deliver dependable platforms for our intelligent automation products (RPA, OCR, ML, NLP, Chatbot). They will be part of a world class SRE team focused on designing and building automation platforms at scale. These platforms will be used to deploy business applications that support the discovery, manufacturing, and sales of medicines that save and improve the lives of patients around the world.

As a steward of availability, scalability, and performance, they will work alongside other engineers to monitor cloud-based infrastructure as well as identifying performance bottlenecks. Site Reliability Engineers provide day-to-day technical support for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operations of business applications. They plan, design, implement, manage, and maintain these systems in the cloud. They will manage system availability, capacity, incident handling, problem resolution and asset lifecycle management. Lastly, they will develop and execute business continuity, high availability, and disaster recovery protocols.

The candidate must have a methodical approach to problem-solving, exceptional customer empathy, excellent communication skills, practical debugging abilities, and familiarity with contemporary SRE procedures. The ideal applicant should be knowledgeable about DevOps procedures and the complete software development lifecycle. They will build and configure observability within all our products and services. They will also serve as shift commander, shaping our SRE practice within the Hyperautomation team. The ideal candidate should not only have great technical abilities but also a strong predisposition for action, be flexible, and display an unrestrained entrepreneurial spirit with a can-do mentality.

The Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Hyperautomation SRE Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build infrastructure services, systems, and platforms running Windows 2019.

  • Develop tools, automation, and monitor to operate infrastructure efficiently with SLA, SLO, and SLI

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and responsible for end-to-end production environment by responding to performance and reliability issues; including participating in rotational on-call shifts

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and provide technical support as required, including system diagnostic, monitoring, and health checks

  • Provide regular reports on infrastructure performance statistics and inventory

  • Conduct annual security testing on infrastructure, execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Manage external vendors and contractors to timely delivery and implement technologies or solutions

  • Software delivery, site reliability and/or database/network administration for commercial large-scale software and services.

  • Coding and debugging

  • Monitoring, implementing, and maintaining cloud offerings such as Azure and AWS

  • Excellent communication skills. The person will own communicating complex live site issues and metrics to key internal and external stakeholders

Experience

  • 4+ years preferred years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability, DevOps and/or Software Engineering for commercial large scale cloud software or services

  • Strong understanding of Windows Admin activities & batch scripting is a plus

  • Experience with MS-SQL database admin tasks & patching

  • Good understanding of public cloud offerings such as Azure and/or AWS.

  • AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, Cloud formation, CloudFront, VPC, EBS, Auto-scaling, Dynamo DB etc.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD

  • Experience with coding languages (C++, C#, Java, .NET, Golang) and proficiency in debugging, and live-site troubleshooting during an outage

  • Background in monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty

  • Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer empathy, show a strong bias for action, be adaptable and possess strong interpersonal skills

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, engineering, mathematics, data science, or a related field

Expected salary range:

$107,600.00 - $169,400.00
